I just read in this Thread, Some had posted, he called HSR Tvs showroom and got confirmed regarding Bike for sale. Im not sure though!Originally posted by kc_1602 View PostAre u sure?? According to the post on Bike advice website, the bike will be launched right away in the tier 1 cities. It's the rest of the cities that will slowly get it one by one and by April countrywide.
That's what I understood. Please correct me if I am wrong

IMO it's better this way only. One less gear to deal with UNLESS of course there's a slipper clutch/ claw shifter or something.Originally posted by Satyamzma View PostOh No TVS
why only 5 gears??
)
But, yes if ur talking about bringing uniformity with other latest bikes then yes 6 gears luk gud.

So it beats the Duke 200 by 9km/h considering the Duke 200's cutoff is 135 with the speed sensor in as per Chethan Shivakumar's recordings. Even considering the value without the speed sensor that is 146kmh, RTR200's oil cooled engine still managed 144 which is impressive.

Most manufacturers are sort of pessimistic when it comes to claiming top speed figures.Originally posted by Satyamzma View Postbut company is claiming only 129 kmph of top speed here??
For instance the bajaj website shows 136kmph top speed for NS 200 similarly the Honda website shows 135kmph top speed for Honda cbr250r, but we all know these numbers are breached all the time by most of the folks here.
One valid reason could be this also, as there is always a Speedo error of about 1-7/8% so if the bike is doing 144 it is actually doing around 134kmph when removed the speedo error. So the companies are claiming the real top speed figures and not speedo indicated. Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Sanjay

The Duke's 135kmph or whatever top speed isn't about the top speed at all, its the way the Duke reaches its top speed, its frantic as if in a hurry. That is the fun about riding the duke. From the initial videos I can see, the Apache 200 loses steam after 110 or so. Definitely not a competition for the Duke.
FYI the oil cooled (air cooled where the oil is cooled) engine of the Pulsar 220 is known to reach 150kmph in a lot of videos, also the R15 150cc, although liquid cooled shows 140+ on speedo, but, this doesn't mean anything. Factor in the truth that the Duke's speedo is almost error free and even in a mile or two long highway, the Apache can't come close.
PS: I don't get why everyone is trying to compare the Apache with the Duke. The Apache 200 is an excellent bike but is priced almost 2/3rd of what the Duke costs and is aimed at a segment who want performance at a price. They are in completely different price groups. Not just this, the way the engine has been tuned, the engine hardware (liquid cooled vs Oil/Air cooled and DOHC vs SOHC) is completely diif. If one can pay more, the Duke would come out as the winner in any criteria except for may be pillion comfort and fuel economy.
Otherwise kudos to TVS, for introducing a really well engineered product which also has very good quality. Why 2wheels over 4.....
Its because 'Whatever it is, it's better in the wind!'

imo the as200 is by far the prettiest pulsar ever. the rs is too garish.Originally posted by ROHAN SPEEDOFREAK SHARMA View PostYou are right about the fi part. Frankly speaking , RS and NS speak for themselves (they literally mean thier name)AS , well not so much. Its obviously about different opinions. AS has nothing special about it , nothing which says its adventurous. I like the front part, reminds me of hyperstrada, but well nothing like so.

Re: Launched: TVS Apache RTR200 4V @ 88k and Victor for 49k
Hey guys, from what I know of talking to a bunch of TVS dealers is that, the bike will be coming to Mumbai by Mid March, the bookings have already started with a price of 5,000 Rs and first preferred customers will be Cash/Check Payments (Also I actually talked to Supreme TVS at Dhombhivali East and he said if I pay full payment right now, he can get the bike for me within 10-15 days but i don't think he will be keeping the promise since I only have 60% of the payment ready and rest will be on EMI) Other then that Most city's should get the bike by April for the carb version, with options of TVS Tyre's, pirelli . Also to note here is that you will have to wait another 2-4 months for the FI variant along with non abs-abs to come out since they are going to Indo first then India. So in order to get full variants deals in India the wait time is another 2-4 months, this is a conformation from the dealer I have contacted.
So if you are looking for Carb 200 without abs but with pirelli or tvs tyres you are in luck by March or sooner but in order to go for EFI, along with abs/non abs there is a good amount of wait for us Indians. Either way if you are in the market for a 200 with carb and tvs or pirelli's then you should go for it. I on the other hand am waiting for the carb, tvs tyres, abs version to come out which is by April. till then I will be driving my wife's Activa. :-p
PS:- The dealer have told me the OTR for Carb, tvs tyres, non abs to be at 98,500 aprox while the Carb, Tvs tyres, Abs will cost around 1,15 Lacs aprox, Efi, Pirelli's, Abs is going to be around 1,25-1,30 Lacs Aprox OTR..
Hope this helps in planning out if you like to buy the bike or not.
PSS:- These prices are Aprox and the real deal will cost near to it (said by the dealer, difference will be around 1,000rs Aprox lower or higher)
PSSS:- The build quality is very high on the new Apache rtr 200 4v, it will def make a dent in Sales of Duke, RS 200/ AS 200 for sure, because of the high quality seats for rider or pillion, overall comfort that Tvs went with real time driving then going for a spec sheet battle which a lot of you think gets a bike qualify's to be in the league. Overall if it's comfort you are looking for, along with good seating, good build quality and the near the best sound you can hear from a RTR.. this bike is for you.. Even tho I'm not a Fan of Tvs or Rtr's this is a product you def want to put on your list."Biking: the Under-Rated and Drug-Free Antidepressant"
