    Re: Launched: TVS Apache RTR200 4V @ 88k and Victor for 49k

JDC TVS Alwarthirunagar TVS Showroom,Chennai, says that the Top-end RTR (ABS,Fi,Pirelli) is gonna cost 1.3L On-road and is hitting the showrooms on April 10th.They will have the normal ones in display within 10 Days,I'm gonna go and take pictures and observe what TVS has done with the RTR 200 I'm kinda disappointed with the power figures on the Paper with only 21 Bhp,Whereas the competition having 23-25 Bhp.I also didn't expect it to be the Cheapest RTR.I expected it to make more power and pricing starting right a bit above the Pulsar RS/AS/NS 200.If the 200NS comes out with FI and Dual-Channel ABS,The RTR will be DOA ,The only thing I can see is the Better Build Quality of TVS over KTM and Bajaj

1.3L OTR for the top end with ABS & pirelli tyres is good deal . Should get lot of Market share in 200CC segment for TVS.

TVS Apache RTR 200 4V First Ride Review: Dexterous Dazzle | Motoroids
One of the best reviews I have read regarding the Apache, including Xbhp's review. Both are icing on the cake.

True ! Also loved PowerDrift's look at the Bike.

It's really funny to see the comments on the RTR 200 before it launched,People called it ugly. Now see what it turned out to be - The most BEAUTIFUL 200cc Naked !

The naked tag suits the Apache very well, I wonder if they will come out with a full faired version for a better mid to top end for those looking for Apache touring 😁 but the bike is just fine the way it is right now, Naked like a boss.

Lets be realistic here. Saying its not in the league is actually a big stretch.

              RTR200 4V
              -ABS
              -Pirelli tyres
              -FI
              -5 gears
              -Petal brake rotors
is expected to be priced around 1.07 lakhs (Keeping in mind its Oil Cooled)

              200NS
              -NO ABS
              -MRF tyres
              -6 gears
              -NO FI costs 91k
              -Conventional Brake Rotors
Expect the FI version to cost around 1.1lakhs (Liquid Cooled)

              RTR200 4V Specs

              21 hp (FI version)
              18.1 nm
              Top speed: 144kmph

              200NS Specs

              ~24hp (FI version)
              18.3nm
              Top Speed: 155kmph

Top speeds are irrelevant here. Its pretty simple. The 4V is an attractive city commuter. It was designed for that purpose. 200NS on the other hand can be used for touring and long rides.

(Before you talk about ABS on the 200NS, keep in mind the RS200 has only single channel ABS and costs around 1.3lakhs)

Both bikes cater to different people both are build differently, While NS has a good rider seat, it has a small pillion seat which makes it less comfortable for the pillion keeping that in mind, Rtr has a full grown pillion seat which still by reviews till now has the best comfort vs other street naked bikes out there. While the RTR has very different elements put together to make it more aerodynamic on city and highways but being a naked bike it can tour but the wind blast would be real. NS on the other hand has the horsepower advantage which makes it's a better tour bike then RTR but stil remember these are naked bikes and touring with wind blast would make no sense so if you are looking for some touring you can get any bike but RTR still has an advantage over other naked bikes not only NS. Since company's these days think small pillion seat is the way to go, TVS has shown us something different and which works for them as a huge advantage with people looking for a fast bike, comfort, and safety which TVS offers like a Boss and other company's do offer better sheet spec's but overall they do not fit the right comfort levels for them and their pillion. So yes TVS has a winner on it's hands with normal people at least.

People who like spec sheet battle are not typical tvs fans but people who want overall everything in a bike will be the new customers TVS will have and Apache Tibes who want to upgrade to a better machine would choose RtR again.

Now it's keep everything at bay and wait for the Launch in showrooms and see the magic TVS would do in the biking industry, only time will tell.

I was using TVS apache 180 abs and feel it is very comfortable to ride. Currently I am using pulsar 180 ug3 model and it is not that comfortable wen compared to apache

Why comparing Apache200 to ns 200(discontinued bike)? compare it with AS200 which is improved version of ns!

Apache200, AS200 and Duke/RC 200 - all have their respective customers and all of them are good in their own way. Nothing in this world is perfect and there are bound to be some issues with each bike as is the case with human beings.
Also, a bike which tops the sales figures doesn't necessarily mean that is the best bike around. Personally speaking, I ride a humble SS125 and after 33K kms in 3.2 years, I think no other bike would have given me so much satisfaction. For the record, SS125 was one of the lowest ever models sold. The definition of 'BEST' differs from person to person.
Problem is, there are people who project a particular brand and demean other brands. People here might remember an xBhp member who would suggest you NS200 no matter what your requirement was - even if you were asking for a 125cc commuter or a gearless scooter! To him every other bike was a piece of crap. Now also, I see some members projecting Jupiter, Phoenix and Apache in all the what bike queries!
Having said that, I see the RTR200 an welcome addition in the 200cc segment. It should be a good upgrade for people riding an Apache150 or a 1st generation Apache160. Specially down south, TVS has had a good presence and network.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

Top variant costs Aprox 1.20 - 1.25 Lacs On Road Price Kalyan.
Basic variant costs Aprox 98,500 rs On Road Price Kalyan.

Pirelli's Tyres add about 7,000 - 8,000 rs to any Variant (Aprox)
Abs add about 10,000 - 14,000 rs to any Variant (Aprox)
Efi add about 12,000 rs to 16,000 to any Variant (Aprox)

None of these prices are confirmed by TVS but are just Aprox I got from a Dealership in Kalyan who gave a Aprox figure for Loan inquires.

Also those opting for the Top End model have to wait till or more after April or so since the basic variant will be launched first, after 2 months the top end basic variant, then top end EFI version, then top end Efi with ABS. 2 months gap each, Kinda confusing to me as well but this is all speculations made by me. TVS could also do a all variant launch all together but the chances for that happening is less. There could also be a order made by booking amount per dealership asking each and every customer the Variant he/she wants with wait times of 2 months or so. Anything can happen by this time since it's not just one or two variants but a total of 8 as of now.

Also TVS could provide customer's with a Top end Model discount for a few months due to them commenting that the price for top model won't go over 1.15 lacs but by the looks of it, it could go over the 1.15 lacs mark but don't know as I said i'm just making speculations and anything can happen.
