It had the same 100/90 rear though. The bike also had tank decals similar to the one on the 200/220. The 150 DTS-i was written in normal font though. Looks like the tank extensions are going to be standard on all Pulsars hence-forth!!

              • A lot has been said about Bajaj's latest upgrades and especially about the exclusivity factor associated with the P200 and P220.

According to the pics, its quite clear that the P180 will now look exactly like the P200. I believe if the P180 was a P200 lookalike or vice versa from the beginning then this shouldn't have been so hard to accept!

First of all, there's nothing wrong in sharing parts between motorcycles, and why does it have to be?! P180 gets the front forks and swing arm from the P220 (if I am not wrong), I guess it is a really good move as I believe that the ride quality of the P220 is better than P180, right? So sharing suspension from the P220 should improve the ride quality of P180 significantly! isn't it fine?!

Moreover, sharing of parts internal or external is quite common among motorcycle manufacturers around the world. And I personally feel that we shouldn't take this exclusivity factor too seriously. See, many bike makers has been doing this since ages, there's hardly any difference between the looks of Suzuki GSXr 600 and 750, so there goes the exclusivity! Ducati came out with the 1098, its exclusive and later they came out with the 848 and now 1198, damn! they all look the same!!! hardly any exclusivity left!

And though the new design would be anytime welcome, but for the above reasons, I think its acceptable what Bajaj is doing. And I think the changes are not only cosmetic, right?

A motorcycle is exclusive only when it is launched...an year down the line, and there's nothing exclusive about it anymore!

What will be interesting now is the performance of the new P180, which gets more power but with increased weight, can it challenge the RTR180, I think not that's what we should discuss now without getting senti

                All my personal views above.

                Cheers!

                    Nicely put there.
The frustration is actually for the existing owners and not for the new ones.

Yes.! I sure wish there would be a power upgrade. Something to compliment the new looks.(or should i say xerox'd looks)

OT: Welcome to xBHP..! I see its your first post..

                    • hey i test rode the new 150 ug4 and compared it with a new ug3
it sure is a lot smoother than a ug3 engine or my ug2 and the gearbox feels 'almost' unicorn ish
The tank Decails felt metallic like that of the hunk or the first generation karisma
also the 150 UG4 is dearer by 700 rupees here in bhilai
180UG4 will come in 1st week of May

                        • I don't want to create any war but I am saying what i am feeling now

                          I have ZMA-04,P-180classic,and just bought FZ-16 and R-15
                          leave yammies aside,
i have no regret I haven't chose P-200 as my brother,
The reason was my parents thought P-200 would be unsafe for me ,
I know its great bike, killer looks and raw power with a good price tag,
But now what would the current owners feel,
not only the owners of p-200-220, but P-180 and p-150,
its good New owners are getting better options but what would those guyz feel who just bought the bikes,

I love my ZMA because it still the same as the first ZMA series, apart from some sticker job ,
P-180 classic is close to my heart, because i bought it from my own savings ,
My brother is planning to spent ~15000 bucks to make his P-200 to look like R-15,and some more power mods,
I never liked p-220, but liked its projector headlamps,
                          what should we expect now,
P-220 fairing on platina or XCD ,
I am happy that took FZ over P-200
but I am feeling bad , why I didn't waited for 6 more months to arrive new P-200

                          P.S. No offense to anyone,
NOt trying to create any brand war,
all words are came from my heart,

And also every product has it's image and aesthetic value no? So if a P180 is going to come out with P200's forks, rear tyres, swingarms and rear sets then what is the value of the 200? It's rear discs? In that sense they are actually killing off the 200. But loving your bike is totally different and in that sense i will have to agree with you
                            wel yes EL LOCO.....
u r right upto a point tht 200 is getting lost in crowd......
but I'm as helpless as all the people posting here.... but unlike them i think tht ok looks are getting mixed up bt still we hv a better performance bike... n dude looks are deceptive ... moreover if we all loads of money ... who wud hv given crap to indian bikes.... we all wud hv owned harleys n ninjas or ducatis......

Thanks for the enthu and understandin showed in the first post itself................but pls avoid gettin into arguements by comparing bikes directly especially wid words as CHALLENGE.We are all welcome to compare bikes from the point view of market and segments..........The segment here is Premium performance bikes of India and that includes P200,P220,R15 and ZMA too.So how good wud be P180 v4 for the segment.
