          Disappointed with the top speed the D25 achieves. Barely reaches 140.. Was hoping to see it break the 150 mark..

            I guess it has got decent top speed, duke 390 has top speed of around 170 kmph and is around 13ps more powerful.

              Duke 390 true top speed is only around 162 kph.

                  Yes 99 mph is its true top end.
                  Owners have seen up to 171 on the speedo. RC OTOH shows up to 175 on the speedo.

                    I fail to understand the logic behind getting disappointed by a topspeed of 140kph in our Indian conditions that too with a Bike without ABS

                      Well.. You know we do have tracks in India.. So, an occasional visit just for the thrill of the speed is always open.. And for a high performance quarter litre bike, expecting top speed of ~150 is justified imo..

                        1. Kari, Coimbatore
                        2. MMSC, Chennai
                        3. Yash Motorsports, Hyderabad.
                        4. BIC, New Delhi
                        5. A few go kart tracks in metros and cosmopolitan cities.

                        All in all 10-15 tracks out of which only 4 can ever see speeds north of 100-120 kmph. Expectations can be anything. I may want 35+ kmpl along with 140 clicks top end but that'd be ridiculous, isn't it? One can always play with sprockets to see a 150 on the speedo by the way!

                          It's all about competition and comparison. People are gonna say ooh look at the FZ25 it does 150, cbr250 does 155, why can't the duke250 do 150 also blah blah. At the end of the day, nobody wants to be shortchanged. We all want a better deal. Nobody would buy a sbk if it's speed limit was limited to 120kmph. The only reason we go for bigger, more powerful bikes is to experience the speed, the rush of acceleration.

                            The Hyderabad track that you have mentioned is officially recognised as a racetrack ? Do not consider large go kart tracks as ones for motorcycle runs.

                                It's an official drag strip (already inaugurated) and a track is being laid by the side. I hear it's almost complete.
