It could be a dangerous thing if the eyes are kept more on the console instead of the road.

U know very well that in real condition it can nvere be achieved. and it could be dangerous only if the guy behind the clip-on goes overboard looking at the console.

i dont think it necessary. But hey...it does give the sales person one more reason to attract the customers!

    • 2 questions!
one of ma friend got karizma r and it took him 40 days after booking. will ZMR also be the same .. it kinda demoralizes people..
alteast initial 1 month should be full of stock.

Will HH people give a test drive. cos in mangalore HH showroom ppl dun give zma for a test drive.. that means a big NO for zmr too i guess.

      • I am grossly disappointed by this upgrade. As far as I am concerned, it is not much more than the staple sticker upgrade that HH is the master of.

they've added 19k to the ex-showroom price(Overdrive sept 2009 issue says ZMA ex showroom delhi is 72K), and I know that FI and digital consoles cost, but for that they could sure have tuned the engine to a higher level. and that full fairing isn't doing the bike any favours...rear disk is always a welcome addition, and they have had the sense to have a full chain cover (India is really dusty, I mean I am sure that I eat more dust daily while on the road to the office and back than I did in a whole year in Japan), but apart from some technical jugglery, theres nothing going on for the bike.

The earlier ZMA managed to be an awesome bike because despite its lower on paper peak hp figure, it had good torque. but if the FI version does not increase that, all that will be gained is some drivability finesse due to the FI and that itself may be lost because of the added weight.

I guess that the bike would be as effective and effortless a tourer as the ZMA has always been, but yeh dil maange a lot more for the added 19K. why spend that much extra when you don't get any real benefit out of it.

I meant fairing guard buddy, which is usually plonked on expensive superbikes with fairing, to protect it in case of fall.

My bad . With leg guard as standard on most bikes and people install leg guards on bikes that doesn't have them (E.g. ZMA), I thought you meant leg guard. Yo! seen those type of crash guards you're talking about. Very rare in this side of the world.

Those are called crash bobbins. It appears that ZMR does not have faciltiy for that. Nor does R15 has.

Are crash bobbins directly fitted on the fairing (i mean on superbikes). If so, can't we drill a hole on the fairing to fit it? I may sound wierd, but I'm really confused.

I dont think they are fitted on the fairing, rather on chasis i suppose. google might help.

                    • Its a good thing it doesent come with the crash bobbins. Atleast the crash will get rid of the hideous looking fairing.

Oil cooler appears to be huge when compared to the ones on pulsars, or is it placed in different way?. It also has fins on the blocks. Larger cooler mean better cooling characterstics.

Mann it seems at least thrice in size as compared to a P220...
If it is square in shape...!
I am grossly interested in this Oil Coolers technology employed by Honda in ZMR and its difference from Bajajs...!
