Yeah, Side/Frame Sliders (thats the name i know them with) are normally fitted by drilling a hole only unless it is a costly direct fit

But then you need to have a frame which can hold a side/frame slider in the position it is supposed to be. With the kind of frame used by Hero Honda, one might have to get some extensions coming out of the frame to strongly hold them.

"""actually you have made me realize one thing about HH ie. Splendor, zma , cbz were original bikes and that is what made them legends!!

        HH DID A GREAT JOB!!

you are really spot on about that...i myself really never thought of that!!

PS.i know cbz was a honda bike sold in some foreign countries but it was the first 150cc in India. Same with splendor being a bigger version of cub.But zma was somewhat of an original design.""""

this is what i thought about HH when i read the above post but after writing this reply i realized every so called legend that HH gave us was somewhat a Honda bike...Hero group has nothing to do except marketing and customer service which i applaud them for but thats it!!

and now when hero is trying to bring its own bikes they are not being that widely excepted as compared to previous bikes!!

Do you by any chance mean that this bike has any hero tech/stuff involved...

              • Was there any problem of heating in the previous zma ? .
Approx how many hrs of riding over heated it up . Coz I heard people telling it runs all day long without a sweat , relaxed engine and all !!

If I would have bought this one , I would have thought of removing the fairing but it does provide protection for the radiator . So no chance of doing that also .

And I think safety should be there even if it looks good or not ,
The crash guard does not only save the bike but sometimes your knees also if you have a fall and are stuck in the riding position . If this bike has a fall sideways it will definitely result in a bent handlebar and broken fairing making a person poor in no time .

And one thing which makes me angry again n again is that still the bike does not have projectors and still it is stuck on 35 W rather than 55W.
R15 I can understand is known as a race track oriented bike which does not such powerful headlights but when HH call this bike a tourer , They do not know that a tourer bike needs projectors and good lighting ? .
This shows their least interested in giving better anything to us .
I am terribly disappointed and have lost all faith now in HH .

It may sound sour but Bajaj is a much better company that HH . Even after selling so many discovers its only making considerably small profit in a way shows that they are atleast cutting some of their profits and giving us all they can or daring by risking their existing other products to provide a more better product .
Heck the Discover 100 also has 35 W DC HL and the so called premium segment ZMR has the same setup. Whats the difference I dont understand. Now someone dont bug up by saying Refector quality . That can be easily replaced .

Sorry if this post leads nowhere but HH has disappointed me .
Hope is a good thing ,
may be the best of things and
no good thing ever dies .

alteast initial 1 month should be full of stock.
HH wants only people with strong moral to buy the ZMA. Their view is that people who get demoralized so easily are not fit for riding that bike.

Will HH people give a test drive. cos in mangalore HH showroom ppl dun give zma for a test drive.. that means a big NO for zmr too i guess.
Don't expect test rides from the showroom.

                  • Nice

At first view the Specs look nice. First its got nice seating position and the design is decent(not bad as such).

Love the Console and Closed loop FI system. Though a 12 hole injector seems to be like a overdone job for this small an engine(220cc). Any idea what PSI rating the fuel injection system runs? Also is there any idea if its still a manifold injection or a port injection?

Also love the fact that they did not try to make the world's fastest bike. But rather stuck to the strengths and elements of the bike. It would have been funny to see a super sporty ZMA.

One thing that still keeps me off from the ZMA is the spare parts. Any mention of it ?

Not quite sure of the PSi rating of the fuel injection.. It may be around 40 PSI - 55 PSI

I guess it is manifold injection... since PGMFI tech. used this only..

Spare parts as always are costly as far as ZMA is cncerned.

PS :-Will see more of the PSI rating and the manifold injection.. ( i m in office rt now..so probably it will take some time to give u a clear picture of it )..

Seems to be manifold injection, though i am not sure about it!!

                          • I do not understand why some people have reservations about this bike's performance when Bunny and couple of other first rides have clearly indicated it to be quicker and more responsive than the current ZMA even with more weight. Though the top speed hasn't been tested yet. So why can't we wait for an official test ride report?

-- NO, it's headlights do not resemble anything remotely similar to the Apache's or GSR's!!!
-- And NO, integrated indicators with tail light do not mean they are a Gladiator or an Xtreme's rip off. Even in pics, the tail looks completely different from others! It has it's identity. What kind of different tail light set-up is expected then? ....indicators up on sides like Mickey Mouse's ears??!!!

More power would have been good but I am sure that if this bike would have come with some 19-20 horses then the same group of guys would have wanted it to have more BHPs than the P220, that would've been a different cribbing altogether!!!

It doesn't seem that most people are interested to know what kind of a riding experience this bike is gonna bring...just 'cause the specs are similar as before! That's what it has been all about so far!

As someone rightly said, there are handful of bikes nowadays that can do 100+ easily but how many of them can hold on to it for longer durations with least engine stress possible and maintaining overall smoothness too? Not more than couple of them, right? and the appropriate answers would be ZMA and R15! Now this new Karizma FI is likely to do this and everything else better than the current ZMA, isn't that a wonderful thing?

Technical jargons have been discussed enough by the ones who care about them and further discussions can only be done when detailed reports are out! Till that time, let's discuss the good things now atlast, enough cribbing have been done already and I am afraid that people who are looking forward to buy this bike will slowly withdraw writing from this thread 'cause of the fear of being labelled a poser or the one-who-is-not-a-biker!!!!

Rightly said, If we re-visit the wish lists, HH has made many changes (I would say >80% of wish list is implemented) to take Zma to a next level in right direction.
Some comments are neither critics nor suggestive, but mindless attack on the bike and sounds more of joking/inflaming/provoking. This inspite of appeal from Ken/Sunny/Bunny.
No matter what, I feel Zma has earned lot of respect and love all these years and will continue to be loved in the form of ZMR....and it's good move that HH has not sacked Zma-R.

HH has done pretty good job.

                              Peace !!
