Can't believe I'm hearing this. No offence buddy, just my opinion. But that's seems over the top like might as well go for a bumper. I know crash guard will protect, however I cannot imagine them on a full faired bike. R1? Fireblade? tsk..tsk.

ZMR will look damn good for your height, as I said earlier HH makes comfort fit bikes that fits many physiques quite easily (n surprisingly)
      OT:
I would like to add something here:

In one xbhp ride on NH7, in the return ride, my bum was paining a lot for riding my zeus for 150km or so. So I exchanged my bike with a fellow bhpian who has a R15. Despite its small size and my height(6'2'') it relieved the pain from my bum!!! I was quite surprised by it. Infact I felt its lot more comfortable on the R15 than my zeus, which is supposed to be commuter friendly. Well that was on the highway for a hour or so ride, I dont have any idea about the ride comfort for longer duration or city conditions.

      • while the debate on the bike will last long among bikers and enthusiasts what should be the parameter for Hero Honda to gauge this bike?

well the zma was a game-changer and that's the question HH must ask themselves, have they forced any manufacturer out of their comfort-zone with the zmr?

In Looks - Well they are subjective but in hard facts apart from the full fairing I doubt anyone will feel threatened by the looks of the zmr. in-fact the 'always contentious' P220 looks will go down easily . TVS would "imitation is the best form of flattery" after seeing the lamps

Specs- Well lot of new things but a little late in the day are'nt they? be it the console or the tubeless tires or the FI and clip-on's; they are all welcome and much needed but Bajaj, Yamaha , TVS have been there done that and most probably one of them would raise the game whenever it happens. the added weight is definitely not an advantage- how it affects ride quality will have to be seen, the 17.6 bhp is the single largest downer if u ask me...

Price- hmm... considering the fact HH always extracted a premium on their bikes (blame it on the JV i guess) I was surprised the zmr stays below 1 lac on-road , but still the Indian manufacturers should breathe easy knowing they are offering 'more for less' than the zmr, Yamaha might have a thing or two to think about though

Package - Well the HH was and will remain a reliable mnfr and the Karizma is a testimony of this fact, but is that enough from the country's largest bike maker? True the zmr is an upgrade in the real sense compared to what bajaj did with the P220, but while bajaj's move gave power and speed to the masses with that jaw-dropping price; HH has gone on and offered a middle of the road package seeking to impress so that it does'nt hurt when they take the extra pound of flesh.

of course things will get a lot clearer when the zmr's hit the road and we all get a ride , but given HH's history in other segment's it'll be a surprise if this bike turns out to be the screamer we all were expecting.

and that is indeed a pity...

              • ^^ the dealer in mumbai says, the bike will only be available by the end of oct :?
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

                  • The babe is here, finally! BUT the biggest satisfaction to me is the conitnuation of the stock Karizma R.
A little morepower would have taken the game higher and would have carved out a higher niche category in the premium bike segment tself. But I guess we're gonna have to make do with this one until HMSI launches something in this category.

All said and done I personally feel we're looking at another cult bike in the making, or rather to hit the streets.

                    Regards,
                    Joey.

Initially many people said the R15 is out proportion in the rear. But now hardly anyone talks about it.
R15 is still out of proportion in the rear end in the sense that the kind of efforts that have been put in designing the front and the mid area dont appear in the rear end. Rear end has just been left as a normal bike.

But still R15 has its performance capabilities to cover for that supposed "lack of proportionality"
