Bah. How many badly's do u wanna add?
I see more discos and XCDs than Super Duper Splendors and Glamours. Atleast in my locality.

Bajaj hopes to dent 125-135cc with Pulsar brand which has more brand value.
    Ah, atleast this u accept

they should keep shelf life of models for longer duration for brand penetration
ROFL man. Shelf life? U mean Bajaj bikes are good only for a few thousand kms?

Chaotic moves like creating many models and failing will have far-reaching consequences on Bajaj brand as a whole.
Yes,we had all these with the same 97.22 CC horizontally mounted mill
    CD 100
    CD 100 SS
    CD Deluxe
    Sleek
    CD Dawn
    Joy
    Splendor
    Splendor +
    Splendor NXG
    Passion
    Passion +
    Passion Power Pro
    Splendor Limited All black edition
    Blah blah blah

Why not Sprint ? New Brand Name, more brand related expenses, takes time to penetrate any brand name (for that matter)...
Why not think(If u can!) before typing something?

Like some people have said, it's about business model and use of successful brand name, here'e why Pulsar for 135cc.

    > Bajaj ruled 100cc in the form of Boxer, after severence of tie with Kawa, Bajaj didn't buy rights to manufacture Boxer, instead they modified Boxer's Ktech with it's own Exhaustec and launched CT100. After it's failure, they came up with Platina, with time both failed to get Bajaj decent numbers which Bajaj wanted.
    > Meantime, DISC125 was loner in market and was doing great initially, Bajaj found their 100cc eroded badly, so they wanted to launch 125cc at price of 100cc to counter HH's 100cc models. Soon they also found Disc125 losing out to competition
    > Bajaj then came up with new 'platform' eager to take on both 100cc and 125cc, 'Hit 2 birds with one stone'. !!
    > XCD125 initial success didn't go far, Bajaj came up with Disc135 to take on 125cc and Platina 125 to take on 100cc. But failed to get that good numbers.
    > Next was XCD135, this model didn't impress, Disc135 price reduction had no effect on sales numbers. So both XCD and Disc failed for 135cc and they just have Platina125 in 125cc segment which hardly has decent sales numbers. Bajaj is losing out badly in 125-135cc very badly.

    > Bajaj obviously doesn't want to cut sorry figure in 125-135cc, so PULSAR 135 is launched. After seeing initial success of Disc100, Bajaj hopes to dent 125-135cc with Pulsar brand which has more brand value.

    > Hence Pulsar135cc.

Though Bajaj's moves are logically OK, they must retrospect/introspect and made their decisions more 'rounded off' taking into variety of factors, they should keep shelf life of models for longer duration for brand penetration and people's acceptability(products packed with quality n Reliability). Chaotic moves like creating many models and failing will have far-reaching consequences on Bajaj brand as a whole. Bajaj should also focus on quality/reliability of bikes apart from focusiing on clinching market share. The very Bajaj churned out Boxers and Calibers from their factories which were far better bikes than HH bikes in early 2000, but now it's not so.

Why not Sprint ? New Brand Name, more brand related expenses, takes time to penetrate any brand name (for that matter)...
