FYKI, XCD 125 was still in production even after 135 was launched. It was phased out only a few months after that.

Not coz of Karizma 250, but yes with a Karizma 150, I & many will feel lack of exclusivity.
Here, no upgrading and no downgrading is involved, my friend.

Bajaj just chose to name its XCD Sprint as "Pulsar 135". They are trying to milk the Pulsar brand as much as possible. Bajaj is looking at the larger crowd. Remember when the Disco 100 was launched, similar cribbing happened. But what did the Disco 100 give Bajaj ? Volumes and volumes. Get the picture now?

Exactly.. then wont the Karizma 250 owners crib, sayin they are loosin exclusivity because of current ZMA?? we need to appreciate bajaj for deliverin quality bikes across the segments and price range.

Nice writeup dude, now read this:
Ninjas (Karizma's -- most exclusive bike)
    > Difference b/w lowest cc and highest cc is 1105cc (<10cc)
    > Difference b/w basic and top model is whole 'two' cylinders (ZERO)
    > Difference in top speed b/w basic and top model is about 150 kmph (5-10kmph)
    > Ninjas have evolved over 25+ years and are best known performance bikes in the world (6 or 10 years, 1 model, 4 upgrades, with no major upgrade till the last one where they had to do because of competition ...............)

FYI: this competition was started with Pulsar and kept rising to another level because of pulsars.

Somebody might say that how can one comment these exotic and famous brands with the "Pulsar" series.. but then one can't deny that "Pulsar" indeed is a big brand in the desi context.

Not many desi bikes have made a brand out of themselves to start a series of their own, with the expection of the R.E Bullet Series of course.

Also maybe the Pulsar family differ in small increments in terms of "Power" and "CC".. but at least they aren't mere sticker or cosmetic jobs.

Exactly ... bang on to the last bit

    All sort of cribbing again.

What if you were on a budget and needed a nice commuter bike? Pulsar is a well known brand, you might just want to buy one, but a 150cc is out of your budget. What then?

I makes perfect sense for a business like Bajaj to try and capitalize on an established brand. That's what most people forget, they think bikes are launched to satisfy their needs and wishes. However, that's wrong, bikes are launched to make profit. No difference between Bajaj, Yamaha, TVS, HH, Honda, Kawasaki, etc. All companies will listen to their customers, but the end goal is, and will always be, profit.

This will maintain the exclusivity of big bore pulsars
