Around an year back, there was this news of 'huge shipment of Twister parts being imported by Honda. Now, I guess, it links to the 250 cc bike.

Even I have similar thoughts.. by the way the Twister is still sold in its earlier 250 cc avatar in countries like Colombia and Argentina.. Maybe Honda can make and export then from India.

A 250 cc from Honda..!! Things are hotting up. \

Hero Honda is planning to introduce a new 250 cc bike in Indian market soon. The new bike is expected to hit the Indian roads in next six months which means the Indian customer will have a new bike from Hero Honda at Diwali time. The bike is expected to be priced at Rs. 1.5 lakh which will make it a strong competitor to Kawasaki Ninja.

“R&D work on the bike is complete and trial production will begin in the next three months. HMSI is banking heavily on this bike as it will its first offering in in this segment, which is heating up,” said the source.

Hero Honda also intends to upgrade its 125 cc Shine and launch an upgraded model of Unicorn which will be the third upgraded version of the model. HMSI is planning to set up a new second plant at Manesar as its first plant is already running on its full capacity that produces 15 lakh units annually.

Seems like they are going to give us a modified CBX250 Twister..... Specs are good with 24 hp on tap, 6 speed & 135 Kg kerb weight. Looks aren't good though (looks like a Suzuki Zeus) Hope they come up with some modifications on the looks part of it.... it would have been great if they had planned to get the Hornet 250 (40hp) here!

Honda is looking at affordability I guess. The CBX Twister is cheap to produce in India and with simple technology, they can really price it competitively around 1.4 lakh. Pricing like this will attract the 220-cc category buyers and they can sell it in good volumes, which is the key for profit.

                            Finally!!!
If costing is around 1.5L, it'll make a good replacement for my ZMA-R

I don't want to think about CB300R as 250 is already mentioned, but something in similar lines would be great.

just wondering are this news genuine, apache coming with 220, honda launching 250 cc, now hero honda also launching 250cc, yamaha bringing fazer 250 in india and last but not the least i heard pulsar is also launching a 300 cc..

sometimes i feel its a marketing gimmick by Hero Honda and other models as they wont be launching any new models they all serve same old models in new cosmetic looks thats it, but they want to just speculate false news and then bring a disappointment just like they did last year just a cosmetic change and named it ZMR again they may be planning on similiar lines.

Last but not the least do our indian 2 wheeler manufacturers have the technology to reach the technology that R15 uses.
