Hero Honda is not launching any 250 cc bike. It is an error in the ******** blog. Honda is launching the 250 cc.

I agree that Bajaj is the main reason for the current Indian Bike Scene.

But, Honda will have substantial long-term plans and this Twister was planned way long back. They would go according to their plans.

I am expecting the Honda CBX Twister which has been replaced by CBR 300. I wont mind a 250cc single from Honda as long as it has better touring capabilities than the Karizma and I am assuming it will have. My plans of buying Pulsar 220 are on hold now.

if it is a 250cc within 2 lacs, then it is going to a single cylinder air cooled 4 stroke, 6 - speed, producing just over 20 bhp, heavy bike... Mostly a bigger unicorn...

I would still vouch of the Ninja on the grounds as it is way advanced than a single cyl air cooled... just my personal opinion though...

Let us study Honda's pattern. They first give us a bland 125 and later spice it up. Shine to Stunner. It is CBF1000 inspired.

Now they have a bland looking 150 and they showcased a CB1000R inspired Unicorn at the expo.Hmmm.
Now this 250cc bike must also resemble an international model. Maybe CB or CBR also! Honda gives India new designs [even if they suck].
So,this bike may NOT be the CB Twister but a genuine newly designed for India! Maybe a sport tourer resembling VFR!

Believe me, the international bike makers can no longer afford to ignore Indian market! They all are damn serious!

if the news is true it would be great ... But the probability of something like this turn up before 2011 is small .

Even if honda or yamaha come up with such bike i still doubt how they will
realize our dreams /needs in a performance bike .

The sad thing is yamaha and Honda rarely listen what bikers want in their bike bcz they know anyway their bikes gonna sell bcz of the masterpeice works. On the other hand Bajaj listens to us and incorporate many things we wanted (small example Projector lamps in P220 ) and they are capable of producing bikes in a cheap rate but sadly they are not capable of producing relaible machines as a Honda or yamaha . Bajaj tactis is listen to people and make a bike according to their needs at a cheaper rate .P220 took the initiative to give us tubeless tyres and projector headlight and immense power . But sadly they are still miles behind yamaha or Honda in quality . But we cant complain , Bajaj is really pushing others to produce a perfromanc bike with all these features .If Bajaj didnt introduced P220 our Karizma-R would have run just like that without any change for another couple of years and no other manufature would have take the initiative to produce another performance bike in a affordable rate.
Lets hope Bajaj will be able to cop up with Yammi and Honda soon.

Either yamaha or Honda have to start producing what we want or Bajaj should start producing more relable and tested bikes. ( i always hope they may join hands with kawasaki or KTM to produce relaible bikes in near future)

Price wise no one can compete bajaj for sure. Even if Honda or yamaha manges to make a bike that exactly match the same perfromace of p220 it is gonna cost atleast 40-50 K more. But personally i was ready to pay that extra amount if the new bike comes with the things we need.

Just for My satisfaction let me share about the bike i need desperately

i wanted a touring bike around 250 cc with around 24-25 bhp, 25 NM Torque with mileage 30 with price tag 1.5L ,Top speed 150 (true) ,Should be able to cruise around 120

6 gears , Projector headlight (i bet we are not gonna get this from honda or yamaha even though we need this desperatly . why only bajaj listen to us ) , FI , Double disc , Analogue tacho and Digital speedo , Tuble less tyres .

i know we are not going to get it at least in near future .
