the pic is somewhat similar..but the tank seemed more heavy..the light is the same(head and rear) but the engine was small...he was racing with me and from its performance it didn't look like a 250

Which makes me think are they coming with CB Twister 150? And it will be their second fun bike other than the 250cc.

Seems to me Honda is having some sort of mental block when it comes to larger capacity bikes here in India. Let's hope they launch something that packs a bit more punch some time this year. Else I think they will soon be left behind once again by the other manufacturers and keep occupying the same old "smooth-reliable-but-boring-as-hell" segment.

Honda following Yamaha (who in turn folowed HH's policy of 2 bikes in the same category) policy of having 2 bikes in the same engine category- one inspired by sports bikes (new UNI) n other a naked ? makes kinda sense though..

If i read CoffinOnWheels first post correctly, how is a 100cc bike well before Unicorn and that too when they were racing!! Is it a RX-100 (kidding)

What you saw is probably the the upgraded unicorn.

are you sure that the new Fz like looking bike (which we assumed as 250 ) tried to cath up with you and still was lagging behind you ? In that case it will not be 250 cc we are expecting .

The fact is that many of us are here waiting for an upgrade to a 250 cc bike which is from honda or yamaha . But they are not recognising this.
Infact many selected P 220 were able to afford a bike priced around 1.3-1.5 L bike but they went for P 220 bcz there are no other options and the later seems to be vlaue for money. I am pretty sure that many of the new P 220 owners would have think twice if there was a honda or yamaha 250 cc present below 1.5 L . bUt hONDA OR YAMAHA fail to recognise these potential customers.

Now the scenario is that between P 220 and Ninja there is not bike .
(Both of these are provided by Bajaj) . See how Bajaj do their moves intelligently . Talking about yamaha till they launch Fz16 and r15 they were too afraid to take brave and bold moves.They were trying to imitate HH tuning thier bikes for mileage. Result After Rx series no other bike succeded in making an impact. Later they realized their msitake and intorduced FZ16 and R 15 and it was a bold step in the correct direction and they are regaigning some percentages in two wheeler market.
If honda fail to take bold steps i am sure they will be left behind the scene and will be pushed the last position (after HH , Bajaj , TVS , yamaha) .

Wake up Honda , Show us what you have , Explore the unexplored area (80 K - 3 L ) in indian Two wheeler . Create a new class of two wheelers.

When 100ccs are ruling indian market Bajaj took the bold step and intorduced Pulsor 150 (later 180) (even though there were other 150 cc avialble from HH cbz falied to sell in mass numbers despite being a good bike) and It clicked . Learn from Bajaj in knowign customers mind . Take the initiative .

honda and yammi have the technology and potential but they falied to know what customers really want .
Bajaj really well know what customers want but they dont have the strong techinical back ground of HOnda or yamah to produce as relaible bikes as them . When will these two sides meet ?

one more thing. Hey dude did you see the new unicorn dispalyed in Honda stall in the autoexpo? is that what you saw today ? if my memmory is correct that new unicorn model is also having Fz type headlight. (and it is a 150 cc bike) . Can any one post that picture here for him to confirm ? it may be that bike

i'm inclined to agree with you here ... it doesn't seem like honda is bringing a 250cc. IMHO, they are much more interested in upgrading the unicorn than going all out and challenging the likes of bajaj and yamaha. latin american countries have it better than us, atleast they get affordable 250/300cc hondas. we have to make do with a unicorn that though good, is only good enough.
this comes from a unicorn owner and a honda fan as well ... very very disappointed ...

yeah i have seen the concept...first off all the bike i saw had a bigger tank plus a side fairing(nt connected to the head light),secondly the rear brake was a drum..headlight was similar...hadnt i been doing 110+ i sure would have clicked a pic...these guys were zip zapping which made it all the more difficult
