  • @eshan, @neil, thanks guys.

@neil i bought it in b'lore from MSP motors in BSK 3rd Stage. i would recommend him and Perfect Riders on Lalbagh Road. i coudnt buy from PR because that showroom is quite far from where i stay. But both of these guys give you a pretty good deal. If you plan to go for this, do bargain between various dealers and try to squeeze out the best deal
just a month back the prices have shot up a lot so you would actually need to check in case you plan to book the bike. The current on-road is more than 11 lac.

btw you can call me shashi. ill have to change the profile alias for a better name

The fz came with 2 black and one red key right? You want a 3rd black key? Why? I could be wrong but don't think it's possible to code more than 2 black keys; if you try to code a 3rd one the others will get decoded.

Be careful with these keys trials cos it can cost u a bomb in case ur current keys wont work. You have been warned

It's not as bad as that. As long as you have the red key you can code and recode any black key. At least that's how it was on the MT01 and most other yamahas.

I lost the 2nd black key while shifting rooms,so all i have is a 1 red and black. If something happens to the 1 black key,iam doomed since one cannot ride but only start with the red key.

On the MT-01; you could cancel all your black keys and then reprogram 2 black keys. I don't think it would be any different on the FZ-1.

Thanks man.I read it somewhere on the US Fz1 forum that you must have the full key set (2 black, 1 red), if you try to only code one then the other will no longer work as the immobiliser system recodes all the keys.I have ordered key blanks on ebay. Will post the "HOW TO"if successful.

As for keys, what streetfighter said is correct. rajiv what you heard about ignition module replacement is also correct. but as long as you have the red key you are safe.
