where to book my FZ in bangalore
Hi Guys, believe it or not i went through all the pages of this thread, ogled at all the pics posted by you guys. Reason? well i am planning to book my FZ1 now, infact this weekend. Nicks had helped me finalize the bike among many others. You can see the thread here:
http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/what-bik...i-796-a-2.html
I wanted some info from the FZ guys in Bangalore.
During my research days i had visited, Bangalore wheels at Rajajinagar, Orion at kormangala and Perfect Riders near Lalbagh.
i would like to know your views of these dealers if you have dealt with them.
what i understand is that you need to service with the authorized dealer only, for the warranty of 2 years to be valid. so most probably i would service the bike from where i bought it and wanted to know the about the quality of service at these or other dealers.

Hey, ! here to your rescue
... there a total 10 guys in bangalore owning fz1n... majority white including 2012 and 2 blacks.... all picked up from the stores you have mentioned... we also have Suga (who owns a fz1) and who is the co owner of MSP motor works which is also a authorized yamaha dealer.... another Owner Mahesh and i picked up the vehicle from perfect riders we know Mr. Gurdeep (owner of perfect riders dealership) very well ... did both my services from there only overall i would say they take very good care of the bike... both services have been delightful.. if you book it in advance nothing like it...
But in my opinion.... i never liked orion motors ever... have heard of a lot of r1 owner complaining about bad service and over priced service... and myself have not got response from them on a lot of occasions that is in my view ...
if your on facebook we have to owners community there (if niks has not already added you) pls join in and there you can check with other owners about there experiences with their dealers...
i would say which ever dealership is close to your house you pick it up from there will be convenient...
Have PM'ed you my number call me when ur free will give you all details !
cheerssigpic

healines first: Coudnt book the bike over weekend
details: ran around multiple dealers on saturday, and the shock of my life came from the first one when he told me the prices have gone up by 80k

for a moment i almost decided to give on this dream machine and started thinking of alternatives. But then realized that because of the Rupee vs $ tussle all prices would have gone up. I suddenly realized how it affects all of us
still went around the dealers thinking of how to get the xtra moolah required.
Thought of atleast giving a booking amount to one of the dealers also, but then in the morning of Sunday was caught unawares by an eye infection, which lasted till yesterday. Am back now, lets see how and when i get to book my machine now.

Headlines First: bike arrived at the dealer on Thu 26th, and got it ready, registered and delivered on 28th. Took it for a spin of 200km on Sunday. awesome!!! wide grin !! happy
The details.
The dealer called on Thursday evening 'sir your bike has arrived if you can come now we would open the carton and get the bike ready so that you can take the delivery tomorrow' ( next day being a local festival in karnataka). so went accross the town (office to dealer - 27 km of gruelling b'lore traffic). opened the carton, took a few snaps and drooled at the thing i was dreaming from a year now. YES my baby is here!!!
Went home told mom 'she is coming tomorrow'. was attending a conference next day, so was wondering how i would be able to pick up the bike...
called up the dealer from afternoon till evening but the registration didnt complete on that day and i didnt want to take delivery without complete paprework
. Wasnt actually worried about the auspicious day of festival so asked the dealer to make it on saturday without fail else it would be pushed to Monday. Saturday was the second day of conference so still calling the dealer to check registration status. 3 o clock he confirmed that all is done and you can come and take the delivery. yipeeeee
asked a friend to take me to the dealer in his car. he happily obliged! Went to the dealer but they had gone late for lunch so sat around for a while and then asked another person from showroom to just show me the vehicle. We went down and there saw her under the covers. The mechanic removed the cover and there she was......... fully ready and dressed to kill in white. Yes my bike, my dream, my desire, my life was stading there, right there in front of me. i felt like a kid for a while who wanted to jump around and hug my bike
but it would have looked weird for a 6 feet+ guy doing that
so took control and looked at it around. a few guys standing around for their serviced bikes started rubbernecking to see it. i sat on it and almost missed a hearbeat. Then went up and waited for the guys to return and finish the paperwork.
after a while the sales rep came in gave me the keys and the registration docs and other stuff. the owner came in and the work of getting the temporary numbers fitted started.
after all the formalities were over we went down again and got the bike to be brought out in front of the showroom for the delivery and explanation of bike features.
The audience around (read crowd) started gathering. Men, kids, girls, ladies, people from showroom, others, etc,etc the mechanic explained the details nicely and told me that since you would be riding an SBK first time i have adjusted the clutch as such (how nice). My friend took a few photos (while others were busy taking free pics of their own) and I rode away to home, thanking the dealer and the mechanic for a nice experience of purchase and delivery. i was shit scared on how the bike would behave, since this was my first every ride on any super bike. but she was fantastic and didnt create any problems at all. Reached home with the temp on bike continously touching 100C and sometimes above and in the process roasting my legs
but what the heck i aint complaining
reached home and the kids in the area all came running after it... got it inside the home quickly and parked it safely.
Day 2: i still had to do the pooja for the bike. so coudnt leave early for a ride. went to the temple and quickly got it done. waiting for the purohit to come answered a lot of questions already on :
- how much (when they cant speak english or hindi and i say 'no kannada' people even ask with hand signs
) - no answer
- kitna deti hai ??? - laugh
- your lights are on.. - laugh
- can i take a pic with the bike? - yes
quickly head back home, remove all the marks (dunno if it can spoil my paint if i leave it there. so had to do that softly quickly with a damp cloth) and run to the mysore highway. i really wanted to quickly understand and get used to the bike so started riding at slow speeds of 65-80 for a while. not able to rev anything more than 2.5 - 3k rpm. after about 20-30 km i started getting a hang of its power and response and started touching 4.5k rpm. but since it was a little late in the morning the mysore road had traffic and was not as free as i would have preferred. but by the time i completed the 100km i was feeling pretty confident and could touch 100 easily in 5th cog without getting scared in my pants
The ride back was even more fun and the day ended for the ride. it was time for the monster to go back to the cage.
Amazing bike, amazing power, turns like a dream, coudnt have asked for anything more. Yes YAMAHA!!!
