FYI... In Kerala N250R is 2.97 lakhs On-road. I don't think Hyo is that fool enough to price this GT250R near N250R which everyone know what will happen.Originally posted by MAN_UTD View PostRs.2.90 lakhs....? Its better to pay Rs.25 to 30k more and go for the N250r. I wonder how many bikes they (Hyosung) will sell in such a price tag. After looking the pic posted I was delightedm, but disappointed by the price.sigpic...Ride Long...Ride Safe...

^^ don;t jump too early conclusions
let the official word come out on price .. and relating to points u have mentioned .. they have been discussed and to an extent most of these are rectified on 2010 models onwards [still some issues are there, which are common to most of the bikes].
things like brakes and some bolts could have been improved which will not cost more than 3k in total ..by in international market the bikes sold as it is .. so go for stainless steel bolts and ECB breaks ..
so yes price wise it should be kept less .. so finger crossed

@ Mav... though i agree to your points above...i feel the Comet should not be underestimated... why.. because i own a GT250 6 year old and i have beaten a 250 CBR.. now please do not take this as a brand fight but yes.. the bike was capable of beating it on a straight line.. may be its too soon to judge it because we have to see when its on road and then the comparison can be done... this is what i know and have done so just putting my points in... The bike is good as it is but yes quality of service.. parts and other things def is a factor but the bike as such is not a bad one...

as of currently, i do not own a bike but looking for one for leisure. i was almost decided on CBr and was about to book it 2012 HRC, but would like more power and better looks. Looks wise gt 250r looks the part but unfortunately everything else as of now point otherwise.
do you know any other bike except suzuki gw 250 which will be launched soon, i am also open to second hand bikes under or around 2 L.
they should have bigger engine ,superb exhaust note , looks and decent handling, reliability .
i believe you are talking about Comet right, which is naked thus certainly great deal lighter and single disk in front as well?
good to know it can beat a CBR in straight line, i did want to buy one when it was launched but was above my budget and man it did look beautiful and those tiwn engines looks superb. I do have a thing for naked good looking bike - cheers MavLast edited by maverick1; 04-27-2012, 02:49 PM.

Am not commenting on how the GT250R would fare on a drag with the CBR250R, but the GT250R would definitely turns heads big time (more than the CBR250R or the Ninja 250R).
I have ridden the GT650R in traffic and I can say that it is an attention grabber. The GT650R doesn't look any less than a 1,000 cc/Litre class Superbike. The GR250R is indentical physically with the GT650R, which means that when the GT250R will be on the road, it will be difficult for onlookers not to take the GT250R as a 1,000 cc/Litre Class Superbike..!!
Plus the riding position of the GT650R/250R is in true Superbike style (lower than the top of the tank level).. which is punishing for the back but definitely fufills the "boy racer" dreams.
Even the Ninja 250R doesn't have the road presence that the GT650R/250R would have, just because of them aping Superbike Dimensions/Riding posture.

Don't expect anything from Suzuki soon.. The CBR is a class of its own and i would say if your budget and choice fits then go for it... if you are looking for more power in the 250 segment.. then Ninja stands out..Originally posted by maverick1 View Postas of currently, i do not own a bike but looking for one for leisure. i was almost decided on CBr and was about to book it 2012 HRC, but would like more power and better looks. Rightly said.. the posture for the GT series gives you the feel of riding a superbike... and yes very much an attention grabber on the road...Originally posted by payeng View PostAm not commenting on how the GT250R would fare on a drag with the CBR250R, but the GT250R would definitely turns heads big time.

True attention grabber.
But Its a real mess in the city and to use as a Daily bike.
y?
U turns with the handle bar so close to tank and Uncomfy.
Back breaking position in the city at low speeds.
God bless that air cooled engine with a Full fairing In the 37 degrees temperature.
ALso there is nothing as flickabilty on the 250R/650R in the city ,
Its like an elephant , takes ages and effort to switch directions.
positives
ROCK solid on a straight line
Amazing usable torque spread over a wide range.+ a Good FE. i would get 30-32 on the Comet.
5 or 6 speed Gearbox doesn't make a difference until your ratios are well laid out.
The bike although a Twin , revs well and The vibes are low on the higher end .
The vibes/1 single rpm which all the V twins Go beserk with vibrations is present , Once u cross it its all smooth.
There is no point comparing a single cylinder and a twin (parallel or V) under any circumstances except for the cc.
Double the components + USD forks + twin discs + DOHC cam + shims all these which are found on Bigger bikes is given on a small bike. Who else offers??
The feel and the behavior is completely different.

Right.. I agree
Refined or Not, at least Hyosung has got the Balls not to appeal to everybody out there (by giving comfortable ergonomics). Riding one of the GT650R/GT250R will give a authentic taste of "Superbike egonomics and attitude".
As I see it, guys who decide to buy the GT250R won't look at it as:
"I can get a CBR250R at Rs. 1.6-1.85 Lakhs or I can get the Ninja 250R at around 3.10 Lakhs".
What he will actually buy the GT250R is..
"I am getting a Superbike look alike/"feel" alike at 2.5-2.9 Lakhs"

On a general note
Ride a Ducati and A GT650 back to back and lets talk about engine refinement.
Im very serious..Just cos a Ducati costs a Bomb , doesn't mean its refined at all.
The Ducati has better components and handling et all.
The Refinement on it , is same As A Hyosung.

Santa
and the racket/sound that a Ducati engine makes is not that great to most.
But then Ducati has got a very strong brand and very very desirable styling.. the Hyosung has almost no brand recall and the styling of the GT's dates back to the late 80's-early 90's.
But then we Indians have never seen the Super bike era of the 80's-90's.. right..??

now this is some statement. ...Originally posted by payeng View PostRight.. I agree
"I am getting a Superbike look alike/"feel" alike at 2.5-2.9 Lakhs"
as far as i see it .. its purely a tradeoff in some sections .. take N250R/CBR250R .. they trade off in style or size to build quality and ride
where GT250R has style and size and less build quality then the other two [con;t comment on 2011 onward bikes as i have no idea how they fair]
so if i choose GT i get all those guddies [twin disk/size/etc..etc..] and i loose lil top end and slightly less build quality
same goes for other two bikes in viceversa .. so its up to the person to choose according to his choice and need .. and seriously i don;t believe that one bike is better than other .. as all 3 are international bikes and long time presence [CBR**]
and it doesn't make any difference to majority of riders the power on top end , unless ur on race track .. on the power part i say even Duke and P200NS are more than efficient .. and these 3 musketeers [Ninja/CBR/GTR] are have there own strengths
finally choose the one which brings smile and happiness on ur face than to buy for satisfying others [doesn;t matter if u buy N250R/CBR250R/GT250R/Duke/P200NS]Last edited by nagoo; 04-27-2012, 03:44 PM.
