The last thing I wud like to hear about this bike that it gets this foolish detune from the CDI just to foster the fuel-efficiency...........that wud be unnecessary.
Foolish detune? I don't think so MACH50, it all depends on the mindset of the manufacturers and also considering entering a niche market, it's the only arguable way to sell their cakes, HOT.

If only, any manufacturer asked us, how do you want the bike to be!!

as u might know .. in each market the GT have some different tyres and break setup, ex: in Aus it has Dunlop tyres where in US it has Shinko [something like]

i Wish in I-GTR it should have MRF and bybree brake setup.. which can make things ever better + price reduction
It's self-explanatory. Now why would you compare an Indian spec to an overseas spec, nagoo? If it's written, with such specs, I guess it's the way is is for us

I only wish Hyo localizes the parts soon. The only reason they're not is, if they see a good demand as to how their products fit in with the Indian community, and see a good demand, then the scene is gonna change completely.

Until then, the latter part, MRF + Bybre + Price reduction = LOL for now!

FYI: Garware Hyosung also plan to introduce the GV650 cruiser with an estimated cost of 5 lakh INR, followed by the GV250 cruiser.

Cruiser with 250? I dunno what Hyosung is gonna do to the Indian biking scene. For the time, all I can do is sit and watch!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

      • Looking at all these speculations, I feel the Hyosung 250 though is heavier and would feel underpowered, still would sell quite a few numbers for the looks and a few additional features as compared to the Honda or Ninja... what remains to be seen is the FI or the carb point. Fingers Crossed.

India is a big country with billion + population.. here anything and everything will sell in good numbers .. if 20L bikes sells in good number then surely 2.5L bikes will also sell.

regarding EFI or carb ..man.. i too crossed my Fingers/Legs/Ears/Eyes.. only killing time till the bike launch is the big prob

And on a personal note, I have a feeling you might be the first to lay your hands on this bike, as soon as it hits the shores! Best of luck.

Although he did not say anything about the price, he mentioned looking at increased tag of current models GT 250R will be crossing 2.25 L tag...

No news on any introductory offer or estimated run-in expense yet...

                  • So I'm back after a few days. Been out for a while.

Rest assured, the bikes will be fuel injected. Hyo stopped producing carb models after 2009. So no doubt about it, the bikes WILL BE and ARE fuel injected.

personally, I prefer carbed ones as they allow for greater tuning freedom. And once you've got these tuned, they become a blast to ride. They end up producing nearly as much power an RD LT along with the awesome torque curve.

Tuning EFI hyos is pretty hard, even putting on aftermarket exhausts causes problems in some bikes.

Also, I saw some comments regarding concerns about engine cooling. Contrary to popular belief, unlike the 220, the oil cooler on the GT250 actually works and isn't ornamental like the P220. Hope that puts concerns on cooling to rest.

But i think you are the best person to answer my query. How do you think the weight of the GT250 impact its performance?
It would be really helpful to me and a lot of others,if you gave a small review about your Comet?.I would really appreciate that.

                      • Hyosung 250r price - premlim

Here's a snippet. Anyone game for this?

Garware-Hyosung will launch its 250cc motorcycle in India, probably the Hyosung GT250R in, by 2012. Garware motors in collaboration with JV Partners SV Motors will bring in the the Hyosung GT250R to India along with the Garware-Hyosung GT650R. Hyosung GT250R will be assembled in the company's Wai assembling plant located near Pune.

The super-bike has been modified for the Indian roads in order to get the ARAI certification. Noise reduction, saree guard inclusion and other changes have been made to get the certification done.

Hyosung GT250R price in India : The price of Hyosung GT250R seems to get higher and higher day by day. The company claimed that the Hyosung GT250R, which is a direct competitor to the recently launched Honda CBR250R, will be priced aggressively. As said, the initial price proposed by the Garware-Hyosung officials was Rs 1.75 lakhs, which looked really aggressive.

The second increase added 25,000 more to the initial figure, changing the price tag around 2 lakhs. The latest reports from indiancarsbike.in portal claims that Hyosung GT250R's price in India will be around 2.25 lakhs during its launch in India. However, the increase in price is still not too much as the 300cc Kawasaki Ninja is sold at Rs 3 lakhs in major cities in India.

Garware-Hyosung will launch the GT650R and GT250R in India by 2012 and might showcase it at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo. GT250R is expected to be sold in more units than its 650 cc sibling due to the pricing factor. Depending upon the response to its 250cc and 650cc bikes in India, Garware will decide on launching its electric bikes.

                        Cheers!
