  • Looks cool man.

BTW, i can see scratches already on the console

Use a soft cloth and wipe it only while it is wet!

Using a soft cloth alone is not sufficient. The fine dust particles scratch it all then.

Either the cloth should be moist or u sprinkle some water on the console before wiping it

        • When you start cold, where does the idling start from and where does it settle down to?

I hope you're planning on an after market exhaust.

Anyway, manual for fireblade comes in 6 languages. There are 2 books, 3 languages each. So one book is useless... But it sure has english !
Umm, on that note, i would like to share a page of the manual.
Wanted to share this before... Kinda interesting whats written... :d

            • Great bike

@Fireblah: Congrats a tonne for getting the CBR Fireblade. Awesome bike and sure it has got brains apart from beauty. Infact, talking about beauty, this baby seems to be growing on me. Earlier, I thoroughly disliked the FB when they came out with this totally radical looking thing. But, seeing it over and over, and also the pics posted by you.. it seems to be possessing me.

I had been reading all the pages in this thread and infact doing the same in my Office too. Neat pics. Drive safe and take care.

P.S. If i happen to visit Calcutta, I would surely like to meet you and the Blade. Guess, this is the only 08/09 model in Cal. COngrats again.

Idles at just under 2k and settles at 1.5k . Yes i think an after market exhaust after the warranty period. But the thing is , this exhaust is good and a complex piece of machinery like a servo motor inside and mechanism for opening up of valves/flaps etc... so i am not too sure. Need more info on this.

The homologation policies in our country needs a serious re-work... I don't know why our authorities put a saree guard in R1..!! When i bought by Royan Enfield Bullet, there wasn't any saree guard or leg guard as standard. I checked with atleast 3 big dealers in Delhi & all said that "Bullet mein Saree Guard & leg guard nahi ataa hai, aap ki marzi hai to khud lagwa lo, paisa extra charge hoga"!

And my dealer (in Jhandewala Market) didn't wash the bike in 1st service "Hum bike nahi dhotey hain"!! So i never took it to the service center again !!

BTW Whats the 'A' and 'AV' icons on the digi speedo (bottom right corner)? AV might mean average, but 'A' ??

the low beam light is always on, so no switch to switch on the pilot lamps.

I will do a walk around vid soon. I will check in the manual what 'AV' means.. cant recall now. The 'A' stands for average. There are two modes for mileage. One is A, which stands for average mileage, and it resets after every refuelling, and the other one shows the mileage real time. That is, if you are on open roads and going at constant speeds, it goes up to 28 kmpl ! but on slow moving traffic, also drops to like 9-10 kmpl.
