    • Hello all,
      42 days , 1700 kms..
Last night Jonak n me headed out to wellington (area in calcutta related to bikes) on the blade.
There are approximately half a million potholes on calcutta roads (we are proud of them as they enhance a driver's skills and sharpens his/her reflexes )
Anyways, that said, the ride was ok... slow, hot and steady... we went , bought a lovely helmet and came back. I dropped jonak at a local railway station. Never went over 4k rpm the whole time.
So while coming back from the station, i decided its time to stretch her legs...
But to my shock she wont ! I was immediately reminded of the problem that happened before. By this time I am so used to the bike's power dilevery that I could immediately make out that its the same thing problem mentioned on page 12. The bike keeps going on the initial powerband, and there is no boost that usually comes on around 4k rpm.
Anyways, the bike is due for 1st service for long now, so its time to bug Honda...
The reason i mentioned kolkata's glorious potholes is because the bike went to one last night, it was not bad... but still i feel something might, just might have become "loose" again ??
Hope honda gives a proper report this time.

      Happy times

              • hey fireblah i wanted to know have you done a power wheelie yet on the blade ? and the problem of the loose connectors, do u think its because of riding over potholes or due to something else in the bike
Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul.

My brother has done a power wheelie, not me ... he did it on first gear..
I dunno about the problem, that is the exact cause. Just waiting for a reply from honda.

I did not mention this before, but before we got the delivery of the bike, Honda gave us (bro and me) two days training on safety and techniques involved when riding. They give this training to any customer of theirs who wants to get it, but for customers who are buying super bikes, they highly recommend it.
It was very helpful and fun, and apart from that the effort honda is making is very commendable. The training included practical and theory and it had SAFETY first always.
I just respect Honda so much after my experience. Speaking to their engineers and trainers who have undergone extensive training themselves in places like japan/australia/singapore, i found out that Honda has always stood up for safety first and had made many initiatives in this direction.
My trainer, Mr. Harpreet Singh was rightly saying that in India, no one is trained for riding a two wheeler, which is right . kids just pick up their dad's/friend's bike and hit the street !
Well just wanted to share my experience and hope there is more awareness about safety in India.
Here are some of the pictures taken during the training. The bike used was CB 400... amazing bike that one too ...

They have a simulator for gauging how safely you ride on roads, and react to real life situations etc etc.

India has a very high percentage of deaths due to road accidents and its rising !

Finally I was awarded a certificate and a medal of honor from Mr Harpreet Singh (my trainer who was very patient and kind to me )of Honda for being a safe rider
                    Hi,

Congratulations on a new Bike. I have a GSXR-600 and HD 883 Sportster, love'em both. I have gone through motorcycle safety foundation courses myself.
Please remember your curve handling techniques dude, they are so damn important and especially in india. I saw one picture here where you are making a turn so mentioning. Ride safe!!!

The bike is designed for 95 octane fuel... this was told to me by honda. But as old fox has told me and i believe it too , any fuel is ok for these bikes,
Yes. Old Fox and I tried this experiment out over a period of time on several bikes and it turned out fine. And XtraPremium is 91. Everything else is 87.5. But the lower Octane fuels cannot be kept long time in the tank, even for 3-4 days. In that case, it starts to knock.
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Those lights are indicators for things like brakes(front/rear), gear(1-5th). Its like this so that the instructors/trainers know what you up to from a distance lights are on the back too..
