      Bingo !!
Even I keep the headlights on when its cloudy or at dusk, and pple literally bend over backwards to tell me that my headlights are on.
I even had pple leaning out of buses to tell me the lights are on. If only they spend that much effort to obey traffic rules !!

I guess in US the headlight in bikes, is hardwired to be ON all the time. So I think ur bike has been imported from the US !!
Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!
Hyosung Aquila : Because sometimes you need to look cool while riding at 40 kmph and you can do that only on a cruiser !!!

This rule is also in europe and i think pretty soon will be in cars as well.
The fireblade that i have has been imported from Japan... I think they make it like that anyways. Even the CB400 that we rode during training had its headlight on all the time.

Oh, but not in UK I'd think. Din see that when I was thr !! Neither in Italy IIRC!!
But its a good thing. Makes it a lot easier for oncoming traffic to see you !!

This bike is from Japan or it wouldn't have had the Fireblade moniker on it. Besides, I know that for a fact because I have spoken to the the sales manager of Honda. The CB 1000 is from Italy.

Until a few years back the bikes meant for the EU market had the option of switching off the headlight. Now, even in the EU all the bikes have the headlights on and no switch to turn them off.

A bike meant for the US market always has its turn signals on.

Yes, they remain on and when you use either of them, they start blinking.

Yes, I have known this for a while now. But why so? I mean the lights turned on are for safety standards, etc. but why the indicators?

It just makes the bike more visible and I guess its a rule in the US too.

My source is my '88 CBR 600 and all of my uncles bikes that have been imported from the US and a lot of bikes I have seen in the US and the ones that have come from there.

                          Check out Carlitos R6 too.

If you want, you can make a switch to turn them off. It costs 30 bucks here.

In UK, USA, Canada etc its mandatory for the Bikes to have the head lights on . Also in Canada the cars should have the headlights on all the time. in USA I have seen a switch position where the head lights could be off. But when it rains its mandatory to have the head lights On.(Low beam)
