    • So, I'm back with the pics..!! Was having some problems with my broadband connection.

This was a breakfast ride and it was not pre-planned. The Roadrollers ( a touring group from kolkata) were having their meet at Gurap and Jonak da asked me and vishal to come for a ride to shaktigar. Again. And I had nothing better to do on a sunday morning. And since that day was my bike's 1st birthday, i wanted ro ride a bit.

Met up with Fireblah around 6.10am near wipro petrol pump. Called jonak da but his mobile phone was switched off. So we decided to head towards NH2 and call him again once we were on the highway. It was a beautiful morning and riding with one of the best liter-class bikes in front of my eyes felt great. we were doing 75-80kmph. Then met two riders of roadrollers on the highway who told us that jonak da was waiting near tarakeswar, some 30kms from there. So rode with them till tarkeswar and found jonak da waiting there. Took a little break and started riding towards shaktigar. Took another break in gurap for five minutes and now it was the three of us. We were doing 95-105 all the way till shaktigar. Langcha Kuthi was the destination. We were there for about 30mins. Had kachori-tarkari and lagcha. [] Then started riding towards kolkata. The weather was real good.
There was an empty stretch and i wanted to rip a bit.
220 reached 126kmph in a jiffy and the speedo was slowly climbing towards 130kmph when a big-black machine overtook me with a "whoossh" sound. It felt like I was standing still. Later vishal told me he was doing 265kmph.

Jonak da had to make a stop in gurap. We again took a break there for about 15mins. Members of roadrollers were having their g2g. So it was me and Fireblah again. Started riding towards kolkata. After some time, we could see that rain was coming towards us. So we found a small tea stall and waited there. It poured for about 30mins. I wanted to click some more pics of the wet blade, but fireblah was in a hurry. SO rode back to kolkata. We crossed 5 members of Eastern Bulls near dankuni and one of them was wearing Full black alpinestar gears - Riding jacket, pants, boots, gloves and agv helmet. I think its time for fireblah to get something like that. Maybe Dainese.

      Distance covered : 260kms.
Mileage: around 43 kmpl. ( Very good, considering the fact that 60% of the time we were doing more than 90 kmph)

Pics: All clicked with my humble digital camera, sony cyber-shot w80

      the Fireblade.

Langcha of shaktigar ( Pic dedicated to Ken da )

Guy comes out of his Scorpio and asks "does this cost more than my car?"
      Fireblah (smiling) : Yes...
      Guy:

      Under the clouds..

      Mr. Jonak

      The Roadrollers at Gurap.

Fireblah's new lid .... Kaun Banega ..err, Blade-pati??

      Man and his Machine.

      Ehh...cudnt find any flowes..

      Weather was real nice..!!

But then it started raining...the small tea-stall

      Cloudy sky..

      And it rained..

      A little drop..

      One for each..

      And the rain stopped.

I remember my first such experience. During GIR 2, Sunny, Old_Fox, Shailay, Nabendu da, and me were riding at a steady speed of 110-120kmph in Durgapur expressway. I was riding at the extreme right lane in the highway. Sunny was following me. Suddenly Sunny overtook me from left lane at 250kmph or something. I could only hear a "Zoooooooo" sound and the R1 became a small dot at the horizon within couple of seconds. Man!!!! I was scared to death.

This was funny indeed. Here is the details.
As soon as we went in front of the shop, people came out to see the bikes. The guy comes out of his new black scorpio, points his finger at the blade and proudly asks in front of everyone " Is this bike costs more than my car?". We nodded. In disbelief the guy says "Mine is Scorpio M-Hawk. Costs 10.5L. Is this bike costs more than even that?" When we told the cost, the guy was . Looks at a third person and says "See, I told you" !!!

Once again to Saktigarh. Oh that place... And the railway tracks? Did you guys overtake the Shatabdi Express? Or the Rajdhani?

Thanks for remembering me. It has been decades since my last langchas. Glad to see that some traditions die hard!
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

You still remember the railway tracks?
I remember once I overtook an express train. Do not think it was either of the two. But yes!!! The train was doing over 100kmph. The people from the train gates were waving hands and shouting "Goooo!!! Gooooo!!!!" And I was doing over 120kmph with crouched position. Became an issue of prestige you see.
