    Also, they have proper testing equipments like a dyno at delhi. So i am seriously thinking about taking the bike to delhi now. Unless they have a brilliant idea and do a full diagnostic somehow in kolkata... which I am hoping they do , as it is possible... like testing air/fuel intake till injection....and proper combustion/compression in the cylinders and the exhaust system... pretty much basic ... (i hope)




    wow 09 R1 in india ! cool man ... congrats !that colour is awesome too ! i think i'll go for grey as well if all this goes bad .... better to pay less than pay more and still feel there is something stuck in your throat....

    Anyways, all that said, i am still hoping that honda will do something ... even though till now we haven't informed them .....
    I am also out of kolkata for a couple of more days ... till then ...
    bro..be calm everything will be fine.nywayss...i always got fear in my ass for DRi guys...coze its only sbk in my whole city..n guess its unofficial..but i can handle DRI guys(LONG LIVE CORRUPTION)...but i wont like to take risk ever...everyone bumping on me to post pics..but overheard tht DRI guys crwal on this forum......thanX bro...

    • @ Fireblah: I suggest you to inform Honda about this problem and let them know that you are not satisfied with the Bike performance....im sure they will try to make your doubts clear..and I would suggest you to take your bike to Delhi once and conduct full test on the bike and satisfy yourself..

      • yes, i want to take th ebike to delhi now. but first i wanna ride her through a couple of more tank fulls , so that bad fuel is completely ruled out.
        Found about another octane 97 fuel pump in kolkata ... lets see...

        @bladerunner: what do you mean by ecu has to adjust for bad fuel. Do you mean the ecu detunes the bike because of bad fuel ?? and it stays detuned even if better fuel is put in ? I dont think thats true.... if it is , then ecu should again get better after getting better fuel...

          A i mentioned earlier bro stick to 91 octane dun go over as the bikes are tuned to 91 only not 95 as you said. And the other thing is after sometimes you get used to the accleration that you feel ur not getting the power delivery its all mental i think. But could be issues Honda uses a perfectly tuned map for that CBR rest you can ask them to have Scanner ready to take all the reading and get the official ranges from honda and compare them. Everything will be in front of you

              I think Archer is in San Fransisco !! So he'd obviously wud've gotten the official one !!
              Or in case he is in India, he hasn't as the official one will arrive only in Sep !!

                @Monty: If you have got an 09'R1, then it's well and good for you. Please do not discuss about your R1 again, in this thread. On the other hand, if you are faking it, then I would say that's really bad on your part.

                  I only meant that in regards to "knocking". Yes, if you put in better fuel, the ecu will again get used to it and the performance will go up. The only reason they ask you to put 95+ is so that the bike generates all the power it has, which you will never use.

                    If that is the case, an ECU reset would sure help. Guess we should disconnect the battery for 15 mins or so.

                      Yes, used to acceleration , true... but cant feel the difference in 24 hrs !!
                      anyways, i wanna take bike to delhi and compare with other same fireblade, on a dyno and on road... only then will i be satisfied...

                          bladerunner- how much would be the difference in power when you put 95+ fuel & 91 fuel. What about if you have a power commander or juice box fitted will it still cause knocking when change the grade of fuel

                            Yes I did .... see, i was riding with this in mind, but still as i have mentioned before.... i felt a difference, just within a span of 24 hrs.
                            Wont mention this again now :P

                            And i dont think knocking is because of ECU. Its because the engine is designed for higher octane and the lower octane fuel do not combust properly. Instead there are little explosions in the chamber.. etc etc that causes knocking.
