I put Castrol 10w30..
Foreword:
Blade has been on drag once before. It was with a CBR 600. Me and my brother were thinking , oh 600 cc , we will smoke it easy , but we were so wrong....
The CBR 600, packs alot of punch, atleast in the initial stage. This bike's rev range is also higher than the 1000RR.
Anyways, on paper the 1000 is better than 600. But that day after 4-5 rounds of drag, the 600 was the clear winner..

The problem we were facing was that the blade was not able to get a good launch. There was always a dip in power after the start.
Anyways, then on one round i started with high rev... launched at around 5000 rpm, with clutch control (to prevent wheelie), and the blade took off like a rocket !!
with the 600 left behind of course....
Anyway, the blade was challenged for a drag against an EVO last sunday...
I had no idea how fast an EVO is . But i was told so many times that this guy's car has this, that, blah blah turbo, blah ecu , blah blah so all this had a nervous effect on me ...
The car was a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 6 (300 BHP, all wheel drive) and the driver is a national rally champion.
So we met up with him and his friends and headed out for the drag.
I had been practicing launches, but still messed up at the launch. Anyway, Blade was just too fast for the EVO, even after a bad start.
Here are some pictures and videos.

Junior blade was there to cheer up her elder sister...

Evo stretching out..

The half pant brigade

Blade is more popular with the kids

Being responsible towards the society
CBR vs Evo 6
600 vs EVO
600 wheelie
Later, even the 600 was put against the EVO ( I wanted to warn the evo guy about past drags between 1000 vs 600
) , but poor guy was smoked by 600 too !
So after two defeats, he demanded for a street race and we agreed.
Now, its foolish for a bike rider to accept challenges like this (which i realized soon after the 'race' started).
As soon as it started, he overtook me on the first corner. Cant say much more, other than that there was a cycle cart and a cycle man crossing the road ahead and the EVO(drifting, skidding and making a huge cloud of dust) gave them a scare of their life...
When i saw that from behind, I just gave up ....

AWESOME stuff dude!Originally posted by fireblah View PostAnyway, the blade was challenged for a drag against an EVO last sunday...
don't feel too bad about the 600 though, supersport 600s often beat their bigger cousins. one small tip though, after you slot it in 1st, keep both feet on the ground, and raise them both simultaneously. gives better balance. you will have to time it right or you'll miss 2nd.
LOL at the responsible towards ... With the kinda racing in the vids don't be too surprised if someone objects to this too. good thing they're off-site though.

what you are facing is a timing lag on your thousand. go online and buy yourself a timing retard eliminator which will get rid of that flat spot and give you heaps more bottom end.
factory biked have retarded ignition in the first 4 gears to stop people from flipping the bikes. the tre gets rid of that.
Ive got an IVANS TRE on my gixxer and zx10 and its definitely worth the 50 usd.
just saw the videos and i wouldnt ride like that on indian streets. the cars got 4 contact patches , bikes got 2 which can go very easily.
the bikes were always going to be faster than the car. power to weight ratio car has twice as many horses but weighs atleast 5 times as much.
around the corners though its got heaps more traction. so it will almost always be faster than the bikes.Last edited by Aryan; 07-29-2009, 10:39 AM.

Very true ... I am never gonna even try racing on streets now. i respect the power of this bike and dont wanna try my luck..Originally posted by haxor View PostWhile Racing with the Evo
One general suggestion:
With the car,the driver will kill someone else
With the bike, you will kill yourself!

drag was not more than a quater mile. Speeds reached was around 140-150 kmph @ 1st gear. The EVO had to change gears upto 3 times .... makes alot of difference.
I searched online ... seems like these things are available mostly for Kawasaki and Suzuki bikes....Originally posted by csgup1 View Postwhat you are facing is a timing lag on your thousand. go online and buy yourself a timing retard eliminator which will get rid of that flat spot and give you heaps more bottom end.
