Thats ok brother. Everyone is learning one or the other thing daily in the field of automobile. So cool. By the way 1st take the current running piston and see on top for the piston size marking. You may have to clean the top of piston for reading that. Even if its not visible, Take the piston or block to a lathe and ask the lathe guy to measure and give the size of that. By this way you will get the exact size of piston. Standard diameter size is 58mm. And each overize diameter increase by .25mm. ie 58.25,58.5,58.75 etc.

    • I have sold my Yamaha RX 135 4 speed and purchasing RX 100 Japanese model.

Help me guys ... Is it my perfect decision ? I have sold my RX 135 for 18000 and purchasing RX 100 Japanese model for 13000 not in good condition. But I read many more about 100 and 135. 100 is better than 135. And 100 Japanese mode is the best.. M I right bros..? Help me what to do.

There is no right and wrong when you are chosing between RX models. And you have already made your decision, sold your 135 and you already have a 100. So no regrets and take care of the 100. If its not in good condition, then make it in good condition. Its on you. Restore it to stock and ride safe.

By the way you didnt post the Pics nor mentioned particular about the condition.Bad condition means is it cosmetically bad or enginewise or chasis?

And I will send the pics of RX 100 shortly. It is cosmetically in bad condition.. Engine is good.... I will restore it in January- February 2017 after having some ride and uses of it so that I can know its engine condition more perfectly

                Just a random little query...
Not related to rx100 in specific but to all old motorcycles(older than 15 years old)

Today...I had gone to Worli RTO for Re-Registration,Green Tax work,Transfer of ownership of my rx(It is still registered to previous owner)
All the work was done without any problems....I filed the papers, paid green tax,etc
Now,it was time for inspection of the bike.....
The RTO inspector(Not the Deputy RTO....he's on leave till 31st I was told) told me to turn on indicators, turn on the bike, checked headlamp,taillight,etc-etc
After all this he took my papers for signing...and saw the transfer of ownership papers along with re-registration and green tax papers......
He was extremely furious and told me that I cannot re-register my bike.....when asked about it,he said that the rto doesn't have proof that I have purchased the vehicle and it can be a stolen one.....for this I'll have to bring the previous owner along with me to the rto for re-registration of the bike.....

I said that I have all the original papers(RC,Insurance,PUC,Tax Reciept)
Also,I have all the transfer papers signed by the previous owner, even showed him the delivery note....

He said anyone can make these type of fake papers, etc
                I was very furious....
I mean if you guys need the previous owner during the Ownership transfer process then why do you guys bother giving out the blank form of Transfer of Ownership....
According to his logic,he said that if he registers the bike on my name and the previous owner comes and says that the bike was stolen then what will he do...
I said that if the bike was stolen the previous owner wouldn't be sleeping for so many days....he would've lodged a complaint long back....

So...after a lot of heated argument with the Inspector,he said that I'll have to bring the previous owner for all the paperwork....

And after all the disappointment, by the end of the day, as I was preparing to leave....a man in his mid 50's approached me...
He told me that the deputy RTO is on leave and he(the current inspector) is just a temporary fix,he's been temporarily appointed to inspect vehicles...and that he was trying to make some money off me.....the man said that now I have 2 options; either bring the previous owner along with me....or wait till new year's eve and come after that when the Deputy RTO will be there...and he said that if cops stop me asking for papers...I should just show him insurance,PUC and the reciept of the fees I've paid and tell them that the bike is being re-registered,it'll take 25-30 days for new docs to arrive at my home so until then I'm driving only with the fees reciept...

AFAIK only transfer papers and all the original docs are required for transfer of ownership....that's how it been all this years....right??

                  Shreyas,
The last said point is valid only if the papers are clear and up to date. You can drive with the transfer papers. But since your bike FC is not done, transfer papers are not valid.Check whether you require an NOC, NOC will be provided only if the papers are current. You should have been tranferred the bike in your name before FC got over. Or you have to take the previous owner and do retest of the bike and then you can tranfer it in your name. 3rd option is get an agent(pay some big amount and get all the paper work done without any headache).

I know this as I have done 2 transfers already with NOC for my car and 135 and the 3rd one for RXZ is under process. For my 1st bike since the bike was already transferred to my name long back, retest was not an issue. My 2nd bike papers are current. So hope transferring wont be an issue.

                  • Yamaha RXG rear suspension upgraing

                    HI,
I have a Yamaha RXG 4s. Sometimes I go for rides as far as 500 Kms in the hills of NorthEast India. The suspension system of my bike is not up to the mark for bad roads/off roads in the hills as well as the seating position causing back pain. I have raised my bikes suspension by 3 inches at both front and rear. Now i need suggestions on how to upgrade the suspension system/shocks like off roader bikes.

Only raising the suspension height can't help.
To match the performance of off-road bikes, suspension stiffness and stroke to be changed. Easiest way is to use the parts from other off-road bikes rather than modifying the stock parts.

If the pump is working fine, use it along with 1 or 2% premix (to be on safer side)
Or if the pump doesn't work, you don't have an option. The former is good for engine life.

Thanks a lot. I am trying to find out whether Hero Inpulse's front fork assy/refills are available and could be fitted to an RXG.

Apart from that i also need suggestions on:

rear dual suspension/shocker mounting geometry or how to make it softer for bad mountain roads / long rides.

Any Gas/ Hydraulic shocker brand height as much as that of a HH Passion rear shocks

                            Regards,
