Sorry for the quality of pics-mobile cam.
-------------------------------

Updates:-
--------
1.Frame has some weak points.Has been given for welding and all the parts for painting will be sent tomorrow.
2.Steel parts, nuts and bolts-Going to be sent for plating in today or tomorrow
3.Salvaged parts have been stored.
4.Spare parts hunt going to start soon.
5.Have decided not to go for disk brakes, thanks for the advice kb100 and NitinGirish.I'll only be riding at sane speeds and when i gave it a good thought, drum brakes are more than enough for my style of riding. Also the high cost involved, was a reason.I'll be investing the same for tyres and spare parts.

Belongs to my mech,he bought it for 18k,he says. Was running fine, currently he is in the process of collecting parts for the restoration.Looking out for the connecting rod and the piston mainly. He too is into 2-strokes a lot, says whatever bike he rides, his heart is always with 2 strokes. The "feel"(His words) is out of the world,he says.
I'm currently persuading him to complete the restoration soon and will soon after be asking him for a ride. After all,A shogun is soo soo SPECIAL!.

Regarding the nuts and bolts, I would suggest to go for brand new ones. Ofcourse plate the existing ones and store for future use.
how about the condition of rims?

I decided to go for plating as they were in decent condition Mr.Boss..Should i go for new ones still?.The rims are excellent, they just need a thorough polish and are good as new.
I think the vehicle was restored previously once, while dismantling, could see some relatively newer parts..

Believe me bro, it's all the plating quality which it depends upon.
Presently I see the your bike's metal parts are still holding a good shine but it does not take much time to get the cheap plating to come up with its cheapness.

When you getting this big restoration done, I would suggest go for new rims and spokes. And if the drums and bearings are okay then repaint the drums alone.
Say if you do not replace the rims now and after few months you see the plating coming off. And then you decide to change the rims.
Then comes the real frustration when the mechanics scratch your shiny drum while they change the rims.
PS: the rims will cost you under 1k believe.
Stop at RED and go at GREEN !!!

Thanks for the suggestions bro,i never thought about such a possibility arising. The rims are relatively new, thats why i decided not to go for plating.Anyway i'll consult with the mechanic and will update the same.

Running on HH rims, the quality is good,i must say.

Just sharing two cents here. I agree that while restoring the old bike, we tend to go with all new bling parts and offcourse new set of bolts nuts screws washers. Believe me, if you could salvage some fasteners that are in good condition as in, head, thread and not rusted to the core, I would just go do zinc dip and use them. Reason, quality! I always believe old parts came with much decent quality than what we get today. However, I don't want to interfere too much into each's personal choice.

For my RXZ, I have got some parts plated so that I can use them. The other point is, parts like clamps holders are almost extinct and don't want to spend time and fortune on them.

Absolutely true, this is the same rxdude told me,salvaging old parts.
I have no plans on buying a new nut bolt kit..will only be salvaging the old ones as they held good all these years and were found to be of good quality.

Sriram,i have a question for you..is like a rubber kit including all necessary parts available off the shelf now.I mean, few years ago,i have seen the same in threads..but what is its current status now?

All rubbers can be found as one kit, or you can buy them as separate kits, like cylinder rubber kit, tank rubber kit etc.

A new engine screw and bolt kit hardly costs 250 rs. So its better to get a new set. If u dont want to buy them as a set, you can always get good quality tvs screws and bolts. But you have to buy them individualy.

From showroom, all the rubber parts come in individual packing. These days not all of them to be found, especially head and cylinder rubbers. There are after markets and good quality ones all in one pack costs 600-750 bucks today. So, first check the availability at the showroom in and around your locality first.
