    1. We are not running any NOS. Its simple pump gas.
    2. It runs a cam and other works
    3. Top speeds were never attained on the Sigma, infact it was on the Speedgun and our GPS.
    4. TOp speed attained so far is 141kmph with the stock CDI limiting the rpms to 9400. This was verified with a GPS.
    5. The bike has also been dynoed as well and the figures are way higher than a stock engine.

All said, pls dont talk about something that your are unsure of. I've still not got over my stress of working on this karizma engine since last night for over 6hrs. We aint joking around and making claims, this is serious business.

ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL... make it ROTFLMAO

I wont make any comment Joel

    LO - yeno neenu ?

Please read my post again ... I am using that as an example of how we tend to dismiss things outrightly till somebody proves it ... where am I dissing the idea ?

If you say Pump gas and not NOS...and verified not with a SIGMA but with a GPS - it only adds more credibility to the claims. Which is what is the point I am making :

Before the info about this bike was posted ... there was a lot of loose talk...and nobody was willing to believe it.
It looked like just another one of those ZMA rumours. And then some people saw the bike in the flesh and word went round about it.

I was using this as an analogy -in general - to say that sometimes we need to be more discrete when dismissing such claims.

    Bah.....

But trust me, u got us confused with your writing style.
But anyways, I indeed clarified a few things.
We always use the Speedgun/GPS for the attempts. However on my Fiero I always run a calibrated Sigma along with the other gadgets.
Indeed the speedcheck on the karizma was done after filling ordinary gas from some local pump. No hi-fi fuels.
Only my Fiero needs mandatory speed 97+

        • My RD (actually it was my brother Rajendra who rode the 350) would have been among the fastest as we have won on several occasions. Best lap time 1 min 34 secs. Estimated top speed 220kmph (11200 rpm in 6th gear on the TZ tach that was fitted to the bike.)

My RX 100 too could be considered among the fastest. Best lap time 1 min 51 secs. Estimated top speed 150+ kmph.

As one can see the RK was no match for the RD in terms of speed or acceleration as it was a good 22 secs slower per lap!! The RD was in a different league.

Although the RK and RX had similar top speeds, the RX handled better and was much faster in the corners and you could brake much later due to its lighter weight (20-25 kgs lighter than RK in race trim). Hence the better lap time.

Best lap time RD 250 (ridden with out any effort) 1 min 42 secs.

The single cylinders were no match for a twin.

              • Rajkumar what mods have you done on the braking of your rx 100 and don't tell me its stock, if you share more info about the engine mods would be an eyeopener for me.

Thats some great feat there Rajkumar. Hatts off to you.
With modern technology, we realise where we stand. I have also been floored hearing these 150+ claims from the sholavaram days. However a lot of such people have beeen surprised when the bikes were pitted in front of a speedgun or a GPS.
As we know, a lot of Group C/B tuners would claim that their RXs would do 150+ on the chennai staright, but in reality they would not even nudge past 140kmph true.
So I'm wondering what devices were used to measure the speeds back in your days.
Also when u say estimated speeds, is that what the engine could attain given the gearing? In reality what was the actual top speed?
Also was the RX Group C or Group D spec.
Finally, how much were your Group C/B spec RX135 doing.

                      • @sandeep - Yes, the OEM brakes of the RK were very poor so they had to start braking very early. A few racers had discs on them.

@psycho- My RX had a lightened and modified TZ 350 front disc with a TZ two spot caliper. Mods to engine are too many to mention but basically it had a short stroke (48mm) crank specially built and ran 54mm piston giving it 109 cc(class limit 110cc) along with a close ratio gearbox. We ran motoplatt ignition and Mikuni VM 34 power jet carb.

@ joel- The estimated speeds for the RX was calculated by taking the max revs in top gear down the straight. My RX had a Stitsu tach which runs off the spark plug lead. It was very accurate. We also did time/ distance runs for the last 200 mts of the 1.1km straight, just before the braking point. We took the time taken on two synchronized stop clocks. We often got a time of 4.6- 4.8 secs, which would equate to an average speed of about 150+km for those 200 mts.

Hi Kushant. Hi arun. Have been very busy lately and not had time to browse or post.
Any mods lately on your Zma? Kushant.
Have just received stage 4 full race cam for my Zma with springs and titanium valve spring retainers. Hope to try it out soon time permitting.

Oh so you have taken the same route
Would like to know how ur engine turns up.
Yes and the Karizma is indeed getting tweeked. I'm working on an ignition set-up and some engine tweeks as well.

What cam were u running all these days then? Stage 2?

                            • Hi, Joel; Kushant.

Yup, my bike ran with a stage 2 off road cam with peak power at 9k.With the new full race cam the bike should produce peak power at 11k. Sadly the Gp B 180-260 4 stroke race has been shelved for the forthcoming Rolon championship due to lack of entries. (The last race had just 5 entries.) Any way will still develop the bike as a track tool for week end track days. Also building my old RD group B for track days- but that is another story.

                                Thats the spirit.
Sad that Libra guys pulled from racing this year. Which means even Anya cant race anymore in the class.
I'd suggest u somehow pull a few local riders into this class or atleast enter 2 bikes for the heck of running the class. You sure stand a good chance this time.
Anya will surely take part if there are 5 entries.
