      • @ Aschinth, vas -

I think a RK with a decent engine would be like 8-10K. Not taking into consideration the cosmetic state.

Thats what its really worth but people in B'lore and now even in Mysore - realize that people who buy a RK are passionate people who might not mind paying a wee bit extra. So they extort money and quote ridiculous prices.

I couldn't find any RK with papers and engine in proper condition in Bangalore. I got mine from Mysore. For a RK in good cosmetic shape and good engine - you could pay max 12K IMHO.

CLII makes 13BHP. Slightly longer stroke IIRC. RK is sort of oversquare ..shorter stroke, revs a little bit higher and quicker.16BHP.

        • anyways myseld done few rallies on this beast and still owns couple of them and non stock (modified) one can clock 140 - 145 easily with an amazing inital as well, and you can refer it close to an rd in all means as we had proven it for few times.
lol..that one really cracked me up are u talking true speeds coz the yezdi speedometer shows speeds till 140 anyway :P so even if ur talking speedo speeds, u cant tell...and if you really expect to be believed, a sigma reading can be held true if u've inputted the right wheel dia..people wont take your claim seriously otherwise

yes, there are people who had attained those speeds during 80s @ Sholavaram.. like Aspi & Sherry Bhatenas, M.R Rajendra & M.R Rajkumar etc.. the legendary riders India has ever seen..

Its hard to believe when some newbie[sorry] make such claims without any valid proof Atleast, they should be able to post a pic of their machine on which they claim to have reached those speeds. Unless he posts a pic of something like this, im not gonna believe his claims.. very sorry

                • No, what I am saying is .. if he wants to "claim" something ..as long as he is not trying to impose his views, there is nothing to be agitating right ?

Yes - everybody claims to have done this and that, and its upto other individuals to determine for themselves whether those claims are believable - especially without proof - as you counter. Surely people are intelligent enough to draw their own inferences.

Sitting home, we can't really convincingly shoot down his claims can we ? Doesn't somebody here have a Nitrous boosted ZMA that touches 140plus true speed on a sigma? Kushanth ? And were we not discussing for ages about how its all BS about modded ZMA's and such speeds ?

When neither side can disprove the other, why bait the other party ? Thats my question.

Of course you are entitled to tell him what you think ..I guess all it needs is a bit more diplomacy IMHO

                  • If no senior member challenges such ridiculous claims[without proof] by a newbie, the quality of the posts & threads will degrade for sure.. all guys will claim unbelievable figures from now on.. you will soon see newbies claiming easy 200+ every now and then.. its "210Kmph" man.. on an aircooled Indian HT RD350.. its ridiculous .. dont u feel that by any means? i wonder...

just read that article & the mods.. they were more TZs.. than RD350s.. they were the best so called RDs in India and the claimed max speed was just 220Kmph..

N.B. Im not agitated and not in for a word fight.. but its the duty of the senior members.. Otherwise, the newbies will start thinking that they can do 200+ on an RD with some road-side porting & chambers..

There is a distinction you make between - newbies and experienced members .. It reminds me of my college days - seniors vs juniors ...

On a forum we shouldn't discriminate anybody as a junior or a senior based on his post count. If Joseph Abraham starts posting here tomorrow under a pseudonym he too will be a "newbie", wouldn't he ?

But how do you know if he is just bluffing or really knows his stuff ? Only when he is allowed to put his views across, isn't it ? But everybody - even if he is a excellent engineer/ expert starts with ZERO posts on the forum.

So let there be no discrimination as "newbies" and "senior" members when somebody posts their views. I am just saying this in general and not specifically about this particular person.

Secondly - related to this particular case ... you will say you "know" its just BS what he is saying ..speeds of 210 etc. I will be honest and say - "yes its highly impossible to believe such things" ... everybody can post about it ..disagree or agree with another persons views ... but lets avoid "baiting" - thats all I was pointing out.

Yes you are right in pointing out that this seems like a wild claim - I think so too but...

You can disagree with everything but let it no degenerate into flame wars. Such things destroy the credibility of the forums - rather than letting "newbies" make "claims".

Anyway there is no need for us to discuss MORAL policing here is there ? Let muthalik do that and get his pink chaddis

Ok let me get some facts right here for you. I'm working on this karizma engine and I'll talk about this myself.
                                1. We are not running any NOS. Its simple pump gas.
                                2. It runs a cam and other works
                                3. Top speeds were never attained on the Sigma, infact it was on the Speedgun and our GPS.
