      • Posting here after a really long time...

1.Has anyone from Hyderabad head of a mechanic named Chiranjeevi? He used to work at the Yezdi authorised service center at Kachiguda before it shut shop. I cant seem to find him anywaywhere. Its like he just disappeared. He used to work on my Roadking and he really knew what he was doing. Once he tunes/rebuilds your bike, trust me, you will NEVER go anywhere else.
2.Does anyone know of some other mechanic who can do a good job? So far no one's been able to get my bike's performance up to scratch.
3.Can my bike be converted to CDI? Its getting really annoying to keep adjusting the points every now and then.
4.Coil rewinding... headlight output is absolutely pathetic. I was planning on rewinding the lighting coils myself with thicker guage wire but lack of time prevents me from taking it up. If anyone does a decent job anywhere in Hyderabad, please let me know.

Would really appreciate some replies to my questions. Thanks

        • @Kwok : Thanks mate.

          @ Hafeexius :

Points to CDI conversion is routine. Just find a good mech.

HL output is decent enough on the stock bike. Before attempting coil rewinding etc - pls try with a good bulb and reflector Assembly.

            • Yezdi 350 ? Good condition ?

"Good" - you got to be more specific. Coz AFAIK, its a PITA to get a clean RK let alone a 350 nowadays. 5 years ago a CL2 with about 80K on the clock and a first rebore on the engine sold for something like 5K. Today there is a huge market for second hand Yezdi's and RXs. Enthusiasts are queuing up Big time. Some folks have got their Yezdis all fixed up and dressed up and are quoting 20 plus. Some even 25K. And people are ready to pay upto 20K.

My point is ... I think you will find a 350...but "good" ?? I don't think so. I suggest that if you have a flexible budget , buy a 350 which has papers in order and is not a victim of the "number-punching" scam. Forget the cosmetics and the parts - you will need great patience and lot of enthusiasm later on to rebuild the bike. Get a bike with clean papers. Rebuild it.

              • @prashanth the 350's are almost rare to find, prices quoted are rather sky high. especially the white one's are going for crazy prices.

I personally feel the 350's are undercarburetted, even in my wildest dreams i can't imagine a single carb feeding the 350cc mill ..

                • Hey thanks for your reply guys.. I dont really mind the time or money involved in restoring a 350 first of all...but one of my neighbour says that he knows a person who is interested in selling a 350 and its supposedly in "good" to "great" condition..He is yet to send me pics..may be then il know what he meant..but even if its not that great looking a bike I guess il pick it up if and when he quotes a price...give me a rough idea guys...lets assume the bike is a good bike..or rather a restored one..what am I looking at paying for it...??
And now lets assume its a crap bike...now wat should I pay..

Jus give me an approx..I know the RD market but Jawa's and Yezdi's are kinda new to me..!! cheers

                  • I think even for a shot bike ppl will quote 25K and more.

Indeed its a 350 with ~24 horses on tap but dont expect RD-esque performance. This is a bike from a bygone era. The thing runs on a single carb.
