      Papers are clean
      Bike is in Coimbatore...

In Chennai there was an other guy called Rajiv from Ambattur also was calling me saying that he picks Yezdi's, restores to original and sells it at 35k as in showroom condition, not sure about this guy...

Too much. For that price you should get one in perfect condition and with great paint and chrome too. And thats in Bangalore with its inflated prices. It should be MUCH less in TN. Post pics if you can.

            • Ray,

I would disagree on the "perfect" condition bit. Unless you have some "super" contact, and they are not in the idea of making some money off the bike, you will most definitely not get a bike in "perfect" condition for 27K in Bangalore.

From my experience, I have found bikes in that price range to be cosmetically "near perfect" but mechanically speaking, they would be far from being in "Great condition". Bikes in 25K and 30K bracket rarely come with a sound engine/tranny/rest of the mechanicals in tip top shape.

              Ramesh -

But I would agree that for around 28K you should get a cosmetically good looking bike, mechanically ? Apart from the handling and braking ...You wouldn't know much about the engine, carb etc in a couple of trial runs unless you are an expert yourself or take a mech...as with any other second hand bike.

As I said earlier, selling your CL2 and YBX for a 28K RK really is a loss making affair and grossly undervalued. 15K for each bike is bare min as per me taking into consideration the cosmetics of the bikes in the pics . Yes I know that papers are due on your CL2.

Beg to differ Sandeep. I've only been in Bangalore a year but have hung out a lot in Shivajinagar and I've seen plenty of EXCELLENT Roadkings (mechanically speaking) in the 18 - 20K range. For 6-7k more you get the paint job and the chrome thrown in. You really don't need super contacts. You do however need to know the local mechanics who trade in them. And believe you me, the sheer volumes that are traded in the Gujli everyday are amazing. You have truckloads (literally) of frames and parts being shipped from the Bangalore Gujli everyday to other parts of India - Kolkata, Hyderabad, Rajasthan. Its crazy. Apparently, in the north, the Yezdi frame is in great demand for guys to use as rigs for transporting stuff since the metallurgy is good and strong.

But yes, this has been my experience and unless you have the time and patience and general willingness to roam around the back alleys, you won't find the deals I'm referring to.

                Cheers

                • @ Sandeep - I agree with you that this is going to be a loss making deal...but am lazy to go around and find stuff....also just posted both these bikes for sale online and have been getting offer for around 12 k max for YBX and one guy called up for 18k for my CL2, if this deal is closed then I would look at getting that at 27 by cash instead of exchange...

@Ray - I agree if we really go out and search out we will be able to get some good deals...am little lazy at it

How much time you are around the block in Blore doesn't count for much if you can get me a good deal Ray - I would gladly go for it - admittedly I have not got any contacts in Shivajinagar - I have never been to Addu and only recently met Moosa.... when you sniff a good deal ping me mate Either a RK or a CL2

Thank you so much for the contact details, really appreciate that!

                            @Sixspeedtwin,

I believe the yezdi 350 silencers looks somewhat similar to a RD-350 silencer, having a more round shape at the end.

As do the Yezdi Deluxe and the 250D Classic At least in some years. On a side note, to my mind the only difference in the two bikes is the rear decal. I've seen some with a 250D Classic on it and others with 250 Deluxe written on it. Anything else different anyone's noticed?

The other day I was peering at a single owner '89 D250 Classic with the cut off pipes. This is one of the less common ones I've come across though. Most of the Deluxes all had the cut-off pipes. I personally haven't compared it in detail to the 350 so I wouldn't know but I'm quite happy to take sixspeedtwin's word for it considering his collection

                                Take a look though
