dont think RD is as good as RK for negotiating corners and if you are good in traffics can make the life of RD miserable.

Arun as you said few mods in Cylinder, Carb & Airfilter will increase the bhp to 22, but expansion chambers wont help though as we have tried!

Mine touches 110 in 3rd gear and can do awesome wheelies in 2nd gear

Well i am an proud owner of RD as well.
    Hello sir (ullasn),
Though i have not been to this thread many times, just saw your posting ( you might be in your forties end like me)
Think you have participated many Road rallies like " Sissors action , south india, etc.," with Nanjappa s & sivas...
What all you said about RK & RD...Holds Good at most times.,but you have concluded that Expansion chamber doesn't help in increasing Efficiency ( POWER, Torque stuff).
Dunno you were talking about RD or RK,...hope its Road King
Any Two stroke motor, with a proper expansion Chamber ( Designed for street or track or motocross) combined with proper jetting will sure to give you the best results!! ( for same configuration engine with almost same condition)
*** I have not taken performance Ignition parts in to account!!
Shall we start a thread for Performance mods in Jawa bikes, provided not sacrificing the life of the Engine as we all know getting quality parts is going to be a Herculean task..FOR EVER BIKE..'coz its FOR EVER VALUE

      Nopes !!
It was not like that, Though Both the FLOWER HEAD seems similar, but the difference is as this>>>
Yezdi :* Has 4 holes to fit into the crank case.
** Head combustion Chamber volume is low then of RK's
Head, with more wider Squish chamfering star point
(since there is difference in squish band for YZ & RK)
Road King : * Has 5 holes to suit the RK's crank case
** Head combustion chamber volume is bit high
( one can visually observe this)compared with
      Road king.
*** Chamfer starts very narrow, compared to Yezdi

My name is Jayram and I am from Hyderabad. I saw your post and it clearly shows the hard work that you have put in sourcing these parts.

I have a 1996 Roadking and I am looking for the original Jickov Carb which I have not been able to source in hyd. Just wanted to check, if you can help me source one for my RK would a be huge favour. The one on my bike, the Pacco, is giving me a lot of trouble. The float is getting stuck time and again, which increases the RPM suddenly and the bike flutters a lot. Let me know the price as well, would be waiting to hear from you soon.
Jayram, why would you like a Jikov? The Jikov, as beautiful as a carb as it is, is not the original carb which was fitted on the '96 Roadking. That was a Pacco. Why don't you get a new Pacco? Its far easier to get than a Jikov PLUS you will never be able to find a new Jikov. At best you will find a used one. Pacco's are good, consistent carbs. You've probably just had a crap piece OR one of your mechanics might have meddled with it. Unfortunately it happens a lot and very often the carb gets screwed up purely because an incompetent mechanics buggers it up. I recently bought a brand new Pacco (to keep as a spare) for Rs.1050

Thats a lovely bike Powertwin. May I ask why you choose to have that console cover/windshield? It looks rather incongruous on what is otherwise a lovely bike. As for the flower head being a stock part, this is only the second time I'm hearing of that. The original flower heads were made for a few of the Standard Type B's in the late 70's but that was it. I am told however that when the factory was shutting down there were a number of flower heads that were being sold off along with the Roadkings. Apparently they were experimenting with fitting it on the crank case but angles created ended up easily snapping the bolts fitting it to the crank case. I am told however that people bought the flower heads when the factory was being cleared and then fitted it to the Roadkings.

I would be very grateful if you can tell me where this place is. I need a complete Roadking engine case. Now while this is mostly useless to most people, my bike has a crack on the case. While this hasn't been a problem so far (I've ridden Bangalore to Chennai and back on it), I'd still like to swop cases before it becomes an issue. And yes I already know about the engine no. being embossed on one part of the case but I have a workaround for that.

I'll post again with a few pictures of my bike and a couple of other interesting ones which I've come across here in Bangalore in the last few months.

        Cheers

        Rahul

p.s. I've been writing a blog about my Yezdi (admittedly hasn't been update in a couple of months) but I don't know whether I would be infringing any guidelines by posting the link here. There is some useful information on it (I think) regarding Yezdis and part-sourcing here in Bangalore so moderators please do let me know if its all right if I post it.

like a original seat cover embossed with jawa at the back. Petrol filler wire cup for filtration, and also the inner wire type accelerator system.

              original jikov petrol Ts

HOLY MOLEY!!!!!!!!! Thats an INCREDIBLE collection!!! You got these from Rajasthan?! I can't believe you have so many original Jikov parts.

Crazy acquisition man. Probably better than investing in mutual funds right now considering the way these are skyrocketing in value.

Contact Kutty at 9448216872 , Bangalore.

Nice looking paint jobs but, if I may say so, stickering just doesn't do it for me. Personally, if you can't find somebody to paint the gold striping (which is missing on the tank and the rear guard I think) then I think it should be left as is. Stickering tends to get a bit tattered and dirt gathers around the edges over time while cleaning and suchlike. Besides, it just doesn't feel right. On the Jawa, the pegs aren't right and the colour isn't one of the stock colours. Somehow, for me, I've found that these little details usually reflect how passionate the owner is about his ride and whether he truly loves his bike or is into a little bling.

WOW!!! Where did you manage to get the bores? Was it an original, un-used Yezdi bore or a locally manufactured one?

                      Hi Ray13,

Thanks a lot for the information. I was not aware that 96 RK originally came with a Pacco carb.
You are right I might have got a crap piece, but the only issue is, I brought a new one recently, which again is giving the same problem. Probably I will have to scout for a better mechanic, coz most of them here are grease monkeys .

Aesthetics are very much subjective...this is just one example of the "work" that can be done by those guys. Obviously the owner wanted it that way, we can't question his passion can we ?

What you get in JC Road is definitely not the original factory Bore Kit. They are cheap locally produced copies that are no good. Hard to find any new bore piston kits in Blore.

Don't know about that one... I've seen some seriously hideous jobs. But yes it is very subjective which is why I said it was purely my opinion.

No ... I actually found a shagged bike with a used std bore. Picked up the bore for about 3K. I have a 1st OS original piston so I am planning to get this std bore , rebored and use that piston.

Its no use buying those BP kits from JC Road. Take my word..

hi.i just got a 96 roadking 2 weeks back..its my first bike and it took some time for me to get adjusted to the bike(needless to say starting the bike!).. the bike is in decent shape.it was rebored recently and has run ~600 km on it..the speedo is conked..so the mech opened the case and we found that the cog which rotates the worm is worn out a little and the worm is slipping..he says i will have to replace the entire case(?) since the speedo cog is not replacable alone..is there any work around for this?please help
