  • Hello Guys,
(Not sure if this the right thread)

I want to buy Yezdi Roadking, I got quotes similar to this
    92 roadking fully restored 45k !
Is it the right price ?
As I met with one guy today he got a bike in scrap condition for 7k and he said he spent around 20k for restoring including tires + a neat paint job.
Can you point me in the right direction ?

Some one had recommended Moosa so I called him up. I was looking for RoadKing CDI model. 2 were available (94 & 96) .

I took a test ride of 94 one(the one with red stripe). It seemed to be good. But price tag is 42k for it.
                  The other @ 32k
Is it a good deal @ 42k ? He says that owner is actually the first owner.
                  Insurance expired in 2007.

96'Model @ 32k ( started in 2-3 kicks didnt take test ride tire was punctured)

                  94'Model @ 42k (Engine Head Changed)

I dont know whether its correct price or not because it depends on how the bike is really. But judging from the current trend if the bike is in very good condition, i.e. no engine work is required + no paint job needed + chrome finish has been done + gear change is smooth --> 40-45k
Before buying, call and see a lot of bikes. Thats the rule. Well it never happens...when I decided to go for Roadking I was so excited that I bought the 3rd bike I saw..and the excitement still hasn't subsided Bike is really cool.
                    Regards,
                    Chinmaya Biswal

The unreal is more powerful than the real, because nothing is as perfect as you can imagine it. Because its only intangible ideas, concepts, beliefs, fantasies that last. Stone crumbles. Wood rots. People, well, they die. But things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on.

Engine is never opened. And bike has been run for few kms. Gear change is smooth. paint job is not needed only stickers have to be changed. I need to get chrome finish done for exhausts + rims.

                        • Petrol tank leakage

hi srini kashyap, couple of months back i bought 1987 yezdi RK. if i put more than two litres of petrol, petrol is leaking from middle-right side of the tank, exactly behind the black rubberpad(which is corroded) next to the YEZDI name plate. one of the mechanic told me that the entire part should cut and replace by welding a new plate. If i do the same, i think the entire tank look will go.
I dont want to repaint the tank. I need it to be with old original paint condition. My vehicle color is maroon.
I need ur suggestion, Is there any way to close the leakage hole in the tank without welding the tank or will i get maroon color tank

                            Getting a tank is impossible.
I have seen many cases where petrol leaks from the rubber pads.
Temp solutions is : use Mseal, and paste it over the leakage area.

                            but you have two options:

                            1. Do as your mech says
                            2. Remove the entire plate, and get a good tinkerer and do it good.

In both the cases you need to re-paint the tank.
