Hey anytime man. Its my pleasure to help out any fellow biker so give the mech a visit and let me know how your shogun faires. I am in talks to get it fabricated but at this point it seems more wise to anti-rust the new fenders and keep an extra set. It is an rx after all, the parts are still available but for a bit of searching not like the Rd350 import or bust. Lol😜

try to learn each and everything from your engine rebuilt by asisting your mech in this way you can learn lot if things....you have the best apportunity.

btw i m from maharashtra..!!!

I already visited his thread and was quite impressed but it seems there was a small misunderstanding between us when I replied to one of his posts.
This is actually my 8th engine rebuild ( only 3rd for my Rx as the original cylinder lasted 15 yrs and little over 1.2 lakh kilometers in my dad's hands) and you can be sure I will be paying close attention to this rebuild as I have the plan ti acquire an old Honda 4s twin and an Rd in the future.

Btw my family is from Belgaum and most of us are settled in Mumbai. My dad was in the airforce so am in Hyderabad.

the cost of both fenders combined is about Rs1850 the quality of it is good not as weak as I thought they would be for the anti rust I will first be completely removing the primer coat on the inside as it is visibly thin in some places. then I will be getting a layer of fresh primer and then anti-rust rubber coat which is the best solution. my concern though is the top part as I think it could do with extra chrome. any suggestions?

Sadly that is very true my friend. the standards of the automotive industry has fallen greatly but that is due to their primary source of income being spares. the idea being if they break they'll need replacing. plus the cost of manufacturing goes up as quality goes up but the customer is always looking for a "good deal". so I guys it is partly our fault as consumers.

I know a good re-chromer but you are right its just not worth it. as I said earlier I'll just keep an extra set and I guess a good wash and wax job will keep it fairly rust free for a couple of years. mostly though I noticed its where the screws are or wherever they get hit or dented that they rust.

Thank you. Btw I don't know if you have seen the first page of this thread. I posted some pics of my other 2 stroker. the re-chroming was done by a chromer known to me. just check it out and tell me what you think. I thought of posting pics as a separate thread but my "during restoration" pics were lost to a hard drive malfunction on my laptop but I have many other post resto pics and a video of it running too.

That's great to hear. If you happen to plan a trip to Hyderabad in the near future PM me and we'll get together.

The zinc polish idea is great will try it on my friends RE350 the silencer tube is rusted (not too bad but still not good).

Also anytime man just PM me when you need re-chroming done and I will get it done for you. always happy to help.

Waiting for next update...!!
kusmaker as per workshop manual AFR depends on the position of needle jet ie 1st and 2nd for lean mixture 3rd one is for standard AFR and 4th and fifth position is for rich fuel mixture.

i wanna know what other settings can lead to AFR lean or rich..??
e.g. 2t oil percentage or by any other mean.

just curious to know plz

BTW I visited Nehal 's page and I saw that it has not been used since it was created. do you know him personally if so can you contact him for me and ask him for the made in japan coil side engine cover please. Thanx

Hi Balgi, myself from Kerala and own a '87 model RX 100. Nice to see your enthusiasm on your rebuild. Closing watching it's development since I plan to restore mine to stock look shortly. The RX is in good condition and still running on Japanese parts, just the aesthetic part is comprised little to mix-up with the current trend. (can post a click if you are curious to see it)

Since I'm here and reading about your numerous engine rebuilds, can you tell me if it needs to be a periodic process or only when in need of one?
