Nice work there with the Drag RX Atul..!! Looks neat..
Was that 128 kmph of the RX or the ZiMA..!?? And, secondly..aren't the tyres too thin..??
I would suggest you that for safety purposes plz add some covering on the handle bar where the front is connected...coz if you are crouched and the bike goes into a bump/pot hole...then it might hurt you..!

Hey btw i read you required a fairing.... I have one of those el cheapo twin headlight fairings lying CBResque with me for ages... (dork i was too panzy in my college days!)
They arent too heavy.... you can strip them of the lamps and use them (atleast as a make shift)

Hey Atul nice work man...... its awesome....... its just like Phoenix...... that little beast rose from the ashes......
after reading this thread I want to ask a question to Atul n all members........ in Hyd near my place I see a Yezdi250(in a pretty bad condition)...... at least not dead like his
....... I want to have this bike...... but have few doubts......
I don't know whether parts will be available or not in Hyd...... I have no idea abt repair work....... so whether I'll get a good mechanic or not........ but I want to try it my way and repair it........ so is it possible for a person like me who only knows the names' and nothing else........
next year I'll shift to Kol...... also whether the parts will be available in Kol or not.......
everyday I look at the bike and I feel very bad...... I want to own it...... but have to keep these things also in mind...... but after seeing Atul's bike in that condition I think this bike can also be repaired.......
should I give it a try.......

A few things for u inder.Originally posted by inder.cool View PostNice work there with the Drag RX Atul..!! Looks neat..

Firstly, u didn read the thread. It very clearly says the karizma did 126 and 130 and the RX did 128 in just 400mtrs,. The karizma would do that in 1km.
TYres too thin? Thats how a drag bike is sir. Our puny engines dont make enough power to propel to 13-14 secs wid a 100 section tyre. And for heavens sake understand that this is not a road going bike. Where on earth is a pot hole in the scene?
Key is least rolling resistance = more acceleration.
Pls come down south and check out the race bikes. A fat tyre does not effectively mean more grip. group B bikes which take knee scrapping corners at speeds over 120kph run on 80/80 tyres and 90/80 tyres max.sigpic

U R right Joel!!!
We have a proven & Live example in the R15.
With very less power also the thin tires of R15 give amazing acc & the best possible grip on a stock bike.
Fat tires of late have become a hit due to the fact that they come from reputed international Brands.
It also gives a good look for the Bike.
Also most of them are soft compounds so people tend to believe GRIP MEANS BETTER FAT.
Most of the Tire-walas mis-lead too.sigpic

looks like im on a major bad luck spree here..on the way to panvel mc donalds, the expansion chamber endcan blew up and went shooting out off the road..right off the welds and took the stinger along with it..chamber was plain useless after the incident not to mention the loud din it was creating.
met the xbhp mumbai gang at panvel mc donalds..nice bunch of fellas..one fellow actually gave me a complimentary davidoff cigarette [owe u one, whjoever that is]..Met a few known guys, satyen, winzee, motorbreath..feels good to associate ids with faces. Motorhead and guru arrived and we got out of there and left for speed test
Tried 4 runs in total. Bike did not enter main powerband in 5th gear as the pipe wasn't making the kinda power it was designed for, not even 1/10th of that..was almost in tears due to sheer frustration..plus couldn't get one clean run for 30 mins and the crazy amounts of trucks going in and about.
5th run clocked 130kph on 4th gear as the 5th was making the bike go slower..The chamber needs to be rebuilt...I dont know when i'll be doing another run..Am kinda disappointed but will definitely try harder next time.
This is the update for now..will keep you fellas posted up
