met the xbhp mumbai gang at panvel mc donalds..nice bunch of fellas..one fellow actually gave me a complimentary davidoff cigarette [owe u one, whjoever that is]..Met a few known guys, satyen, winzee, motorbreath..feels good to associate ids with faces. Motorhead and guru arrived and we got out of there and left for speed test

Tried 4 runs in total. Bike did not enter main powerband in 5th gear as the pipe wasn't making the kinda power it was designed for, not even 1/10th of that..was almost in tears due to sheer frustration..plus couldn't get one clean run for 30 mins and the crazy amounts of trucks going in and about.

5th run clocked 130kph on 4th gear as the 5th was making the bike go slower..The chamber needs to be rebuilt...I dont know when i'll be doing another run..Am kinda disappointed but will definitely try harder next time.
This is the update for now..will keep you fellas posted up

      cheers

btw - my RX chambers are here tomorrow. You can take them, do your jetting, sprocketing and whatnot and have a go.
Do I read what I think I read? Phew! so is it going to be one more bike to be cautious off?

By the time we finished our breakfast and turned around to catch up you guys were gone... "speed run" of a different type!

BTW Do you guys regularly go to Panvel for the tests? Can I join you?
Oh and do you still need that fairing!

(I need a stock pair of silencer for my friend RD that he is restoring, any suggestion where to look for them)

        Hi Atul.
If your bike hit 130 in 4th and did not gain speed in 5th (even with the broken tail pipe and all), is because your sprockets are too tall. 16/ 32 is so tall the bike will not see its powerband in 5th gear unless you have a real jockey on it (<45kgs) , with a strong tail wind as well and more than 1 km of road. Your change over from 15/37 to 16 /32 is like going from one end of the spectrum to the other. Agreed 15/37 is not enough for good top speed but you could try 16/ 37 first and then go taller tooth by tooth.

thats exactly my thought. Atul, the gearing is way too taller for the bike to peak in 5th. I'm sure you know what to do but

thanks so much for the inputs raju sir..will be trying a 15/34 followed by 15/32 one of these days. also have found a bigger stretch with lesser traffic to try the runs..all the runs till now were with 91 octane fuel..just managed to get 7 litres of 97. will do a run and post up

@ joel - yea man..will be getting a sub 50 kg guy to ride the thing..the heaviest part on the bike is me :P

@ pradeep - trust me man, im equally scared about the Aila hitting mumbai..skies look clear for now..will be doing a few things here and there and do another run asap!
i have finished cutting the sections for your chamber and the header is almost done..will be working a lil something for the endcan and do a few test runs and send it across..im trying to keep it as silent as possible, maybe even quieter than a stock pipe

@ winzee - 150kph isnt as easy as i thought it would be, heck even 130 aint a speedgun is sure an ego killer cum eye opener

@ satya - nice to meet you the other day man. we are not that frequent on the speed tests, but yes we make it a point to run for it if anything comes up..guru also might be getting a full stainless steel exhaust complete with header for his zma as well as a hydroformed chamber for his RX from raju sir..we guys are keen to test it out..you are more than welcome to join in i'll PM u next time we have something planned

might try another run soon..fingers crossed

Ok cool! I will get that fairing as well... just in case :P
Do you want to give GM diet a try, just in case you dont find a sub 50KG rider, its the easiest way to shed weight fast... (but most people end up gaining as much in 4 weeks)

                Oh and GS..
ZMA, RD, RX, TZR... woah! Whats cooking?

Right now? Dal Kichdi and Roast Papads...

But otherwise - That is pretty much it. Once the TZR is ready and in Mumbai, the RD will head to Chennai to race-prep it.

                  All attention on Atul here.

Atul - the chambers are in bangalore in a car headed towards Mumbai right now - I will have them tomorrow.

                  Cheers!

                    • THe gearing could be a bit tall. But he also did his testing without an endcan. Because of which the stinger length was reduced greatly. In my opinion, the test on the current gearing should be repeated with a fully functional expansion chamber.

                            • The 130kph on the gun was with a 4 speed barrel with a big exhaust port, stock transfers and a RZ reed cage and stock head and stock ignition. For now the bike is upstairs for the next round of mods and a few changes to setup so I can start speed testing once the rains stop. This will be a brand new barrel [5 speed barrel with a decently powerful setup] and hopefully a bigger carb if all goes well A lot of others things to be changed on the bike..will let you guys know when it happens
