ASC clearly stated that they are unable to obtain parts from Yamaha Motor for over 6 months (actually 8 now) to sales counter. If I need one, then open up a job card with ASC, list down the parts, send email & get the parts via ASC. Or else, I need to procure independently which means buy from some third parties without bills which I'm tired of doing all these years. And the biggest problem is to identify a new Rx100 cylinder from a old cylinder that is full sleeved.Originally posted by NitinGirish View Post

I hope they keep their word
If you really try hard it is possible to find spares in A.S.C itself. Which A.S.C you approach is the million dolar question
A.S.Cs in Metros & big cities will not have stocks
Now that they say April onwards I think it is better to wait. Just my two cents.A lone amateur built the ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic...

Yeah, I'm no hurry too, right now the bike is in very good shape & running upto 1200+ Kms a month. The only custom parts are stock 132 cylinder on standard piston with 28mm flatslide, Yamaha front disc & 5 speed gears. All others are stock including the tyres. I'm restoring the vehicle so that it can last few more years & now I'm sick of perf mods.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

@aargee - diamond kit is an aftermarket casting of the same engine block. It would work, but not as long as the OEM kit and not perform as well.
Parts can be couriered to you in chennai. Should reach you in two- three days if sent by regular courier. a week - ten days if sent by a transporter.

There are many RX lovers left in lurch with no spares available for restoration of the beautiful machine that was launched in India.
I really appreciate your efforts on gathering information. I guess, this would be useful for people similarly looking out for restoring their RX.RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

Most probably it will increase. If I remember correctly, the dealer from who I bought Cylinder kits was talking about 135s kit prices already being revised upwards.Originally posted by jd666 View Post^^ great going, did he say anything about pricing??A lone amateur built the ark. It is not just Mr.Rao, but other officials in Yamaha seem to be saying the same thing. There is a thread on RDD about the same issue.
Just out of curiousity, for how long is this situation being faced? I came to know of this only recently when aravind informed me.A lone amateur built the ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic...

Well, I need to put it this way that, Mr.Rao has told me that he will search for the parts. However it is upto me to follow-up with him regularly to see he doesn't forget. Hope you got the point.Originally posted by psycho 98 View PostSo you say Mr Rao has promised you he will get the stuff, i hope his promise will never turn to dabur danthmanjaan

The best way i cud find one is by goin to some reboring shops .. They will surely have a lot of RX-100 bores with them. But getting a good bore like a G1 or a Y1 is impossible from the company as they only give u G4 bores now which does not have much response. If u do want some help please cotact me on 9916673383. I cud let u know more about them. k. Please feel free to call.
