Ya..ur right mate. As my tolerances are really tight, i need to do a real careful run-in to get the results right. Else, i'll just have to be a waster to have spoilt her.

Like 30 Microns mate. Thank God, I'm a little alert to the Engine note and till now 223 kms and have no issues. Also keeping an open eye on the head temperature and various tests like the water drop splash on the manifold & head and still it just doesn't evaporate instantaneously but takes it's sweet time which makes me a little happy & convinced. Running on Motul 800T! a life saver to my bore i guess.

30 microns isn't tight. Usual specs are 25 microns, some maniacs who dont want any noise run at 20.

Don't run Motul 800 until you finish run in. I always use Kinetic 2T for run in.

ummm motul 800 during run in isn't advised basically you want your piston to bed into the bore as quickly as possible. 800 being super super awesome it actually interferes with the run in like it abates and your motor doesn't exactly run in like it should. Switch to a good enough mineral base oil like motomix or kinetic 2t and switch to 800 after you feel it is done. Just my 2 cents my piston was at 0.30mm and rings were spot on with the end gap ran it in with kinetic 2t for the first 1000k with speeds between 50 and 40 in the 4th and she ran in just fine.

EDIT: I have switched to a mix of yamalube and motul 800 now runs at 60-70 all day without any probs

Thanks Sunny. Not able to source the Kinetic 2T. Suggest any good oil that's easily available other than Motul 510 pls..

@ Ram.. you have to complete the run-in before u start feeding her Motul 800.

                        Parts replaced -

new RX100 silencer for the deep and crisp note in the exhaust.

Some pics attached. the handle bar rusted in the two months that the bike was parked after rebuild, will be replaced soon.

                        Awesome restoration job JD,

only well organised restoration job come out perfection Graet effort and passion.

Between are you sure you got New RX100 Genuine silencer not RXG one

I have restored my RX100 at 2007 i had the same exact handel bar rustting issue. i have purchased around 23-24k values spares for my complete restoraion. till today i have i have not spend a single Rupee except changing the handel bar once again.

Moral- never ever buy a item with paking or authentic seal opened/tampered. unless you are very sound in distinguishing. i took the handel bar from the dealer with yamaha Blue(old one) placsit warp but end side it was opened i neglected it as it look in good condition i thought during stocking plastic sheet might weared. but i learned my lesson. New handel bar still shines pretty even after 4 years

                          Hi Dual disc,

JD told that his RXZ tachometer reading (engine revs) to 9k rpm but you have mentioned your 5s speedometer reading 40kms

                          am i right

Yes, you shud be confused cos i was talking about his rev counter reving upto 9k rpm whereas when i was referring to mine i was talking about the speedo count of 40 kmph.
