^^ yup, its the VM22... sharp eyes man... That was used for running in. Currently she is running a brand new VM26. i think 20 or 22 pilot and 150 mains. Not getting above 30kmpl, but the acceleration is equally gratifying!!!

Would reverting back to the VM22 make a difference? other than improving mileage? upjetting??

@bigbore - will do a complete shoot soon. Need to finish the front caliper parts ( rather than ordering the complete caliper, have ordered for the pistons and the seals, so the caliper is fully refurbished ) Mount new Clutch lever and yoke, change handlebar and mount new master cylinder and brake hose for the front disc.

BTW Guys, any handlebar that i can use with weighted ends. I tried a friend's bike, and the vibrations were much lesser due to the weights at the end of the grips.

You can use your own handle bars and fit the weight ends on it.

Take a Re. 1/- coin and drill a hole in the centre. Weld the nut on the back of the coin which matches the weights screw that you are gonna install. Weld the coin to the handle end and you have a DIY handle bar with weights. (This process might require a lathe machine, you would also get a ready fit handle but i guess a DIY thing has more fun). It can also be done with a washer which matches the handle bar size.

Did this about 5 yrs back on my bullet and the trick worked fantastic.

Didnt get that.. you mean the handle bar or the weights.?? Most of the handlebars will be a direct fit or will be at a minimum mod.

In my opinion the weights from the FZ on the stock handlebar or Rd modded handlebar, or shogun modded handlebar look sexy.

Gladiator or Crux handle will directly fit (i doubt crux having weights).

Handlebar. What i wanted to know is there any handlebar which is a direct fit, and comes with weight mountings.

Jai, try using the OE Shogun handle with a bar welded. It has good weight and handling is the best (my experience) Have it on all my rides. Check out the pics, it looks good too. Let me know if you need one i have a spare one

                      • ^^ Thanks BigBore. I was discussing the same with my friend. He has a 89 model RX100 handlebar, which has a metal insert inside it, but no hole for the switchgear mounting. When he was drilling the hole to fit the gladi's switchgear, he found a thick rod inside the handlebar. That makes it heavier, and also gives it good anti vibration characteristics.

Im looking at the gladi's handlebar. @TheGreat - Welding Flange Nuts reversed into the handlebars ( maybe a no 11 or 12 ) would be sufficient, and much more stronger. Also you can simply tighten any weight onto the nuts. Do not go for the 1 Rupee mod.

I had done that in the past. The 1 rupee mod became necessary as the Bolt was allenkey one, which looks much better than the bigger screw.

I would recommend the VM26 even for the run-in. It breathes well and the jetting wont make it run lean.

As for the handlebars, if you are ok with a stock original RX handlebar it should do the job as it already has inbuilt weights. Else any original bar of the desired length and height will do.
