You are most welcome Ram. Castrol Power1 JETTX will do but i would recommend Castrol Active 2T oil or Motul Motomix 2T for the run-in. I have used both with good results on all my engine rebuilds till dateOriginally posted by dual disc 200 View PostThanks Arun. Will POWER 1 JETTX do the job? Btw. is "Hel Performance" ur's??
I have recently rebuilt my shogun engine and using Motul Motomix 2T. Its giving awesome results!!

Thanks Arun. Motomix is usually difficult to source it here. However Motul 510 is available off the shelf. Any idea about that Arun?? I'm running on Autolube to clear the cloud further.Originally posted by BigBore View PostYou are most welcome Ram. Ram the reason why Arun suggesting you use Active 2T or Motul Motomix is that both of them are mineral based. The other ones you mentioned above are not. What happens during the running(If it is a new bore/rebored), the lines would need to break in evenly. If SS or FS oil used, the chances of making bore glazed and hence result in poor performance.Originally posted by dual disc 200 View PostThanks Arun. Motomix is usually difficult to source it here. In any two wheeler if you notice, it is always recommended to use Mineral Oil for the run in period. Also the chemical composition in the mineral is comparatively breaks down lesser than other oils. Also I recommend Mineral oil for your gear box. Run atleast 4000kms to settle before switching over to SS or FS.

Will try hunting down Motomix or will go with Active 2T. Btw. Motomix or Active 2T is suitable for Oil injected engines right? This is because, I'm not running on pre-mix and definitely don't know why there are two kinds of oils that say only for premix & the other says for oil injected engines only.

Those two are for both oil pump/pre-mix. I would suggest you to go for pre-mix during the run-in period to be on the safe side. Mix 30ml/Litre and ride below 50kmph. Avoid rush of blood during the ride (I know which is very difficult)Originally posted by dual disc 200 View PostThanks Sriram

Thanks Sriram. Trust me, I haven't even rev'ed her hard. Taking it real slow as my tolerances are quite tight. In simple words, never have crossed 40 kmph mark & determined to do that till 2-2.5k kms and open her out quite gradually in the fellow 1k kms after that.Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostThose two are for both oil pump/pre-mix. I feel Sriram has cleared all your doubts about using the mineral 2T oil for the run-in. Don't use MOTUL 510 2T as its semi-synthetic. I would recommend you to use the oil pump if its in good condition.Originally posted by dual disc 200 View PostThanks Arun. Motomix is usually difficult to source it here. Glad Sriram is helping you source the Motomix!

You will require to buy 4 can's of MotoMix as it comes in only 500ml can's. 2 Ltrs will be adequate for the complete run-in.Originally posted by dual disc 200 View PostThanks Sriram. Try calling the Chennai Area Manager to know the CBE distributor to get Motomix. If not, let me know shall get and send it through Deepak if his plans are confirmed.Originally posted by dual disc 200 View PostThanks Sriram. Trust me, I haven't even rev'ed her hard.
