Hi guys…. I kind off disappeared after making enquiries for spare parts for my RX 100.
Anyway I would first off all like to thank a few people especially Arun Bigbore for all the help and advice, big thank you Arun, also a shout out goes to Yamdoot, Karthikdattag, sriramefunds.
Arun and Yamdoot, sorry could not meet you guys this time around but surely will make some special efforts the next time.
I have to say that getting the RX back to its running days was a lot of fun and a wonderful feeling, I say running days as it still needs a few jobs to see its glorious days. Worth all the efforts that was put into it. Some of my experience sourcing parts was that the old mechanics still know where to get parts while I was a little disappointed with the Yamaha stores. The reason I say this is that on my visit to the Yamaha stores a lot of my needs was not in stock and the standard line was that you can place an order and we will check with the factory if these parts are available, if yes you can get them in 15-20 days!!!! 15-20 days is all I had during my visit this time around. Things that were not in stock with the stores, complete lock set, side stand, instrument cluster, tank and panels, clutch plates set, crash guard, brake lever etc…however it was not all bad as I found the following there, all cables, speedometer gear, 2T oil window but there was no float pin, clutch lever, signal lights, rear break light switch, break and clutch lever rubber sets, kick and some more parts which I can’t remember now. Things that I have now changes in the bike are.
1. Complete lock set including the fuel cap – Minda but the key is the new one with black plastic at the end and not the complete metal key as earlier
2. Complete clutch plates with the pressure plate and springs
3. Air filter
4. Side stand
5. Clutch cable and accelerator cable with accelerator assembly on the handle
6. Front and rear brake shoes
7. Rear tyre
8. Both grips
9. All bulbs and instrument cluster bulb holders
10. Battery 12v Exide
11. Changes 6v to 12v
12. Rectifier 12v
13. All fluids
14. Signal lights
15. Rear tail lamp
16. Break light switch both front and rear
Have a feeling I am missing a few items here in the list. Still needs some jobs done but at least she is running fine now and will hopefully complete it in the next trip. Once again a BIG thank you to all that helped.RX 100
