Did you also get to check the Yamaha Green Slime thing?
Did not fit the tyre at yamaha showroom so did not check the green slime thing. Will be changing clutch plates tomorrow. Should I check it?

Normally I have found green slime thing during monsoon in stagnant water. What has yamaha done with it?

Eurogrip tyres are known to suck in the wet. Test it out before the ride.

Yes it looked like the one of the Eurogrips which comes fitted with P220 nowadays. Not very sure how it actually performs but whatever little I've heard they are not as good as the MRF counterparts.

You have have gone for Michelin Sirac 130/70.

I guess its the new variant of TVS Jumbo! Known to be brilliant when it comes to slip in rains :P

TVS tyres are good in All dry or All Wet conditions, anything 50-50 and you are jacked! From the little I know about your riding style, I dont see it to be a problem though!

            • IMO the tyres which have been successfully tested at ladakh are ceat vertigo & michellin siracs.
pirellis are enroute to leh & we will know the report soon

Yes I know that TVS tyres as a rule suck. However, even after spending last 10 days, speaking with area manager of Michelin, sending him e mails, no other alternatives from any of the companies was available at Darshan tyres, Atul Tyres, N Mehta tyres etc. These are the biggest retailers in Pune.

The stock tyre is very very bad for rough roads. In fact, during our amby ride also, it developed a puncture. So took a call and got this tyre. Let's see what happens.

As it is, we will be having ample rope with our group so group members can take turns to pull the bike.

Don't worry too much about it. People have done Leh in crappier tyres.

Just carry a spare tube and you should be good to go.

A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.
