    So here's my modified plan: GET READY FO THE BIG SURPRISE...

    30th May : start from Mumbai
    31st May : Reach Udaipur around 11 AM (the surprise : Meet a girl, for the first time, who can possible be my wife in future)
    1st June : Reach Delhi
    2nd june : Delhi - Manali (537 kms) with Aman

      so you wont go beyond Udaipur then
      A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

      Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

          The fastest I have done Chandigarh - Manali is in 7 hours, with crazy speeds and only one break! And I was solo! And believe me, I have been to Manali a lot of times

              @AMAN: What say. 12 hrs will be long n tiring considering we would be riding early the very next day by say 6 AM
              better would be we riding to Chandigarh on 1st evening & start for manali on 2nd morning n reach by 2-3PM

                these are the shoes which i used for leh ride.. if anyone needs it feel free to bug me..

                A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

                Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

                    What if we start early, say 3-4am types?? as the route till CHD is clean n fast (GT Karnal Road), we can cover that in 3-4hrs (done before on a car). If we start from CHD at 7am, and taking 7-8hrs to Manali, we reach there around 6pm, which is fine, right?

                      OK Done! the plan looks nice n easy now...
                      But lets make sure we leave at 3 AM or before. And also get a proper sleep before this one

                        Inder 5 is not possible man! Its too late.
                        Our plan is to avoid ahmedabad rajasthan strip @ noon...
                        We would be stopping @ ahmedabad and sleep for a bit and then leave in the evening...

                        You guys could either choose to catch up, or go straight to Udaipur.

                        Try asking Motor, I guess he would take 2 hours nap and leave by 6:30 max.. So tag with him!

                          Why would you guys sleep?? resting @ a Dhaba is one thing but sleep?? Am thinking about leaving with you guys only(suggest the same for Inder).. just extending it for 1 hr atleast.. 04:00am that'd be enough.

                            You are saying that you'll reach Udaipur in 15 hrs!
                            I bet you guys will reach udaipur in minimum 20 hrs.
                            No 2-3 pit stops are enough on this route specially when you are riding in group of 5 + in the day time.
                            You'll end up taking atleat 10 breaks or more.
                            So if you start by 4am, you guys reach by 12 PM or so...

                            About sleep, here is something for both of you, Inder & Motor:
                            Dhaba is still a better place to sleep than this:
                            (this is on the lawns of a roadside petrol pump near Kolhapur, during our Hampi ride in Dec 2008.

                                However, the moment you cross BodhKharbu and start getting into Kashmir - this camo stuff can get you looked at with suspicion. If you plan to stay within Drass, then its a strict no no.
