As a relative noob, I don't know if this is my place to say this but I agree with Satyen 300% I think its SUPER important that we ride together at least once before Leh to know each others riding styles and strengths/weaknesses and also a little bit of personal interaction would help greatly cause its gonna be a LONG trip and its nice to get the initial pleasantries out the way! My trip with Satyen was eye opening in that it got me thinking about a lot of my own riding style and what I could do to change it to better adapt to Satyen's style (although in our case, I think Satyen is going to do most of the adapting!) Its difficult to express it in words, but seriously having a gutt feel of the riding style of someone you're gonna spend a lot of time riding with is a BIG PLUS. Inder, could you get Rudra along for the Sunday ride? It would be awesome to meet him, get to know him and ride with him.

I have met the guy and talked with him for good 2hours and found that he is very sensible. He rides an avenger and talkng with him gave me a feeling that he is a 70-80km/hr with occasional burst kind of guy.

When you mean he is sensible, do you mean that he is unlike some of his friends?

                    • Hey guys, please catch hold of Rachit and ask him to post all hotel details asap.

As per our discussion yesterday -

Spidey - will purchase medicines for all. Individual Medications to be bought by each rider

Inder - will purchase 2 nos. electric extension boards

Vishwas - will purchase & carry plastic bags for wearing inside shoes.- ALREADY DONE
will purchase & carry plastic pump used for pumping kerosene. - ALREADY DONE

Each group will have at least one working mobile number. To check with Satyen.

Aman - I heard that you will be taking your bike by train. Please note that booking your bike as your baggage/luggage instead of parcel reduces the freight cost by nearly half. I will be taking my bike from Pune to Delhi for Rs.1200.

                      - Riders reaching Delhi will meet Vishwas and Rudra at Nizamuddin station @ 6 am with some fuel. All riders will leave Delhi directly from Nizamuddin station.

                      - After discussion with Rachit, it seems that we should try to reach Mandi instead of Bilaspur on the same day.

I've booked my tickets in two trains, Rajdhani (still waiting) and some other train (confirmed). The other train does not have a cargo, and Rajdhani would have a high cargo rate (I'm assuming Rs2000+, chances of ticket getting confirmed 50-50). So I'm planning to send it via Safexpress Logistics (Rs1,900 door-to-door delivery).
Also, Rs2400 is the charge if I send as a parcel to Delhi in a seperate train.

A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.
