We're still working on the route, Could you suggest us the best route as you've been there and you know about the place. also R15 can make it there with fairing on?

If you are planning the whole circuit then the route I suggest is
Delhi-Rampur-Nako-Kaza-Batal-Manali-Delhi

Don't even think of crossing the nalas (will come after Nako) after 11am on any given day.

R15 will do at ease, don't worry

While returning back from Diksit, which route is quicker to reach Pangong Tso. Diksit-Leh-Pangong Tso or Diksit - Agam - Wari La - Pangong Tso

If you just want to spend the night in Delhi, paharganj can be an option too, near to Karol bagh (Central Delhi)

Hi,

I'm planning a ride till Kaza from New Delhi with a couple of friends, I want to know the road conditions till Kaza and also if R15 can make it easily there?

One of my friend will be riding a Royal Enfield ThunderBird TS. with a pillion and he is worried about the punctures as he's got tube tires and he's thinking of getting alloy wheels + tubeless tires. Can tube tires make to Kaza easily without messing out heads or should he upgrade?

We just returned from spiti a week back. The road from delhi to karchham is decent, it may be bumpy. From there onwards the tarmac starts to disappear and it's just a dirt road, but it's still manageable. There is one big stream after nako, make sure you cross that as early as possible since the water is less in the mornings. If you decide to go beyond kaza, that's where the roads start getting bad. The entire route from batal to chhatru is made up of dirt and stones, and i counted 7 big streams on that stretch. The R15 should be able to handle it just fine.

Everyone - Garry : Thank you for all the tips and suggestion. We are setting out on monday and will start the ride on Sep1 from Delhi, as planned. Its time to get busy with packing now...

where to stay around spiti

In a week's time, we are going to go around the spiti valley.

Route :
New Delhi, Delhi, India to New Delhi, Delhi, India - Google Maps

Roughly, the roundtrip will take the this route
delhi - dehradun - tabo - keylong - kullu - chandigarh - delhi

It is supposed to be completed in 7-8 days on bike. Need your advice regarding

1. Which places should we plan to stay at night. Though we are going to carry camping gear also, just in case.
2. Petrol - where we must fill and how much extra should we carry.
3. Food Outlets on the route. Any recommendations!
4. Scenic Points/Villages en-route worth stopping by.

It possible that these points have already been discussed in bits and pieces here and there - I'm trying to collect them all.

Try Delhi- Shimla- Narkanda(stay here 1st night) - Reckong Peo (stay here 2nd night) or reach Pooh/puh (stay here 2nd night)- Nako (stay here 3rdh night)- Kaza (stay here 4th night)

Last fuel station before KAZA is at Reckong Peo, staying and eating options aplenty, no worries, extremly bad roads before Karcham and before Puh...

I do not know about the route you are taking about, I did a round of Delhi- Shimla- Kaza- Manali- Chandigarh- Delhi on my ninja in July. See my log below:-
