  • Lijo - I feel u should do it this way

Leh - Nubra valley ( via khardung La )
    Nubra - Leh
Leh - Pangong Tso ( via Chang La )
    Pangong Tso - Tso Moriri
    Tso Moriri - pang/Sarchu
    Pang/Sarchu - Manali
    Manali - Ambala
    Ambala - Delhi

You may need to carry some extra fuel till Tandi. U can fill at Karu and get some extra bottles filled up there.

    Regards,
    Deepan

      • @ Lijo - You can go directly from Pangong to Tso moriri and visit Hanle observatory and then go ahead to Pang. Or are you planning to go to Tso Moriri via Upshi - Tanglan La - Debring ???

          Regards,
          Deepan
I considered Pangong - Tso Moriri route, but I'm not sure about the distance. Considering a safe margin of 400km on a full tank and a 5L extra fuel taken, I'm not sure if I can make it from Leh - Pangong - Tso Moriri, Tso Kar - Pang - Tandi. Is it possible to get fuel in any of the places enroute?

BTW.. i put Nubra valley in between just for fun... I know its in the other direction...

          Current plan is

Leh - Karu - ChangLa - Tanksey - Pangong Tso and back next day. (Then Nubra valley and back in 2 days).

Leh - Uphsi - Chumathang - Tso Moriri - Tso Kar - Moore Plains - Tanglang La - Uphsi - Leh in 2/3 days

Proposed route (Route L-M is not proper in the maps)

Totally hoping to do this in 3 weeks. But if it goes beyond that, two guys may part and head back earlier

Skip Jammu if possible as there is not much to be seen in Jammu and you might get stuck for a long time in traffic.
You can directly go to Patnitop via Samba. Stay at Patnitop and then proceed to Srinagar.

It is better if you dont stay at Nubra and rather stay at Diskit as it has better facilities to stay.

            Best of luck

              • Lijo : If you wanna push yourself, you could even do Nubra - Khardung - Chang La - Pangong in a single day. We did it, it was challenging but did save us a day. If you have ample time at hand, do halt at Leh for the night after seeing Nubra Valley and proceed to Pangong Lake the next day.

I wouldnt recommend a night stay at Upshi as you would get accomodation only in Home Stays, and moreover its only 45 kms from Leh and has good tarmac, can be done in 1 hour. Upshi doesnt have a petrol pump, no ATMs and no cell phone network, no electricity after 10 pm. So it would be a better option to return to Leh after your done with Pangong Tso/Tso Moriri.

point noted... guess I'll be tired of Leh by the time the ride is over..

Me along with my 3 friends, below are our Rides
                    1. P220
                    2. Unicorn Dazzler

Is it a good idea to take RX100 to LEH, need some inputs on it!!
Yes, you can do it safely on RX100. Provided you service it before taking to the Leh road. Many of my friends have done it successfully. PM me if you want a discounted hotel in Manali.

                    • Laddakh on 125cc! good idea?

You guys think it's a wise to (try to) go to Leh from Delhi on a 125cc HH Glamour. I heard someone did this on a Splendor. This is the only bike I have and I'm kinda skeptical about renting one from Delhi. So is it worth it... or a big NO NO. Any advice is appreciated...

                          • Hi,

I'm planning a ride till Kaza from New Delhi with a couple of friends, I want to know the road conditions till Kaza and also if R15 can make it easily there?

One of my friend will be riding a Royal Enfield ThunderBird TS. with a pillion and he is worried about the punctures as he's got tube tires and he's thinking of getting alloy wheels + tubeless tires. Can tube tires make to Kaza easily without messing out heads or should he upgrade?

                            Thanks in advance guys.

I guess you know that I just covered Spiti.... 2 RTR with tube tyres went there and came back without any punctures, you can do that only if you take care of the road.
There are actually no roads there. And after the rains I guess it would be worse.
                              What route have you planned??
