OK Guys , Time has come to officially start the Season.

Leaving TOmorrow from BLR to Chandighar.

Bikes already reached Chandighar last Saturday itself, Shipped via Gati KWE from Bangalore

Starting from Spiti side , via Shimla , today booked hotel in shimla from Goibibo [thanks to its offers 60% off got delux room for 1600/- for 2 ppl + some cash back]

There is no pre-plans of places to visit , just adjusting as we go along

Tomorrow landing in Chandighar and directly heading to Shimla and halting night there [don't want to get fried in Chandighar heat :P]

2 R15 , so any of you see two R15 one V2 and another R15S , its us , we can have chat for sometime

Starting from Spiti side looks like you guys would come from Kunzum and Chatru side to reach rohtang pass to start towards Manali-Leh highway? If I'm not wrong Kunzum-Rohtang pass road is not open yet. Do check guys.

          Travel suggestion for leh

I am traveling to leh in the end of June. I'll be starting from Delhi. I am still undecided whether to through srinagar or manali. Do both take the same time to reach leh? Riders with experience of traveling both sides help me choose better route. (Also considering altitude sickness.)

Hi - What tyres would you recommend for the R15 S/V2 if taken to Ladakh? I know the stock does not have great grip on gravel but does it need an outright change?

                    Must you change? No.
Should you change? Yes. Ceat 120 section knobby tires for the rear and 90 section (stock size) for the front.

Been through that road some months back(last week of oct 15) and as Divya mentioned, would recommend to go with knobby tyres. However not sure about the road condition as of now.

I shipped by Bike from Andaman- Jammu through GATI KWE. All i can say now is that they are running late which is basically due to Cargo ship. total cost 8582Rs
My friend shipped his bike through SWATI Movers & Packers from Mysore-Jammu, total cost 7000 Rs.

Only after receiving the bike can talk about how reliable it is

Gati can be renamed as durgati ( sad state). we used those for ladakh ride in 2014. call me lucky nothing happened to my bike but other 6 vechicles got jacked some minor and some major ones.

if you plan to ship via any courier make sure you do it until the roads are good and not ghats. so say delhi or at max chandigarh should be the last point. post which ride yourself.
