Thats what the guy at Safi Tyre Palace, Kollam said. This was in Dec 2011 when I was looking for a new rear tyre. I don't know if Pirelli SD is not available now as I have not made any further inquiries about it.Originally posted by Fazeroid View Postdude u sure pirelli is no more available?? wer is dunlop available in kollam n is the price diff frm tvm?
Dunlop should be available at Safi Tyre Palace, Kollam.
I don't think there's much of a difference in price in TVM and KLM. But its better to check prices in various dealers before zooming in on one.Your bike is a part of you....
Since Nov 2012: Pulsar 200NS
Jan 2009 to Nov 2012: Yamaha FZ18

HI guys,
I am new to this forum.Recently I bought a used Yamaha FZ16 with a rear Continental 140/70 17 inch tyre.. After three days the bike suddenly stopped and I was not able to turn on the engine, even the display was not turning on.I took the bikie to Excellent Yamaha Service Center,Andheri East. There, they replaced the battery and I could turn it on.But the mechanic there advised me to get the stock tyre as 140/17 was unbearable for the FZ16.Guys, I am very much confused on what to do now.Shall I continue with the same tyre or shall I get the stock tyre in the rear.
Please let me know all the advantages/disadvantages of this tyre Continental 140/70 17 inch on FZ16.

He might not be lying.Originally posted by danny king View PostMy bike is almost 3 years old and had 2 punctures. Both by nails that pierced the tyre within the inner grooves.
If you expect mileage from an FZ, then I sincerely suggest not to buy it. You can go for an SZ instead. Same engine tuned and tweaked to give mileage.
But recently, I met a guy who claimed, the FZ he bought in the recent past gives around 55 kms/l. I do not know if this is true.
Mine use to give more than 50 KM/L. Met with an accident 3 months back.
Now I get around 47-49 KM/L with frequent air loss and chain sprocket problem. If I fix both then I should get better than 47 but I'm happy with what I'm getting.Freddiemaize's Weblog

Hai Guys
I suffered a lot with the MRF Revz - total kms covered - 18000 kms - total punctures - 21. Now I changed to PSD 130/80-17. Price is Rs. 3800 (Chennai). Done about 2000kms. Very good handling in both weathers. No need to remove the Tyre hugger. The only con is that it raises the high that the stock. But for Me(6'2") not a problem. And no puncture till now. In fact I the MRF revz had a puncture the second day I took it from the show room.
Cheers.

I disappeared a long time after writing about my rear tyre woes with the Revz. Nevertheless, I continued with it and recently completed 21,000 Km although with a lot of punctures & cracks - at one time when I checked, there were 7 punctures in all! Decided to replace it, read this forum and decided to get a Dunlop after reading positive reviews here. Bike's been fitted with a Dunlop TG 140/70-17 yesterday evening. Cost Rs.3100/- Fitting charges Rs.300/-. Done at 360 Degress, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. Had to remove the rear tyre hugger though. I hope tyres woes won't repeat!

Not a single puncture till date. Think have done 2500 km plus on the TG and no trouble at all.
Very good grip, good in corners as well (you can lean confidently at 50 plus speeds) and I think it should have a decent wet grip too (haven't had the chance to ride on wet roads yet).
Mighty pleased with the TG. Would recommend for sure!

Re: Tyres other than MRF for FZ16
Can anyone tell me the availability details of Dunlop Tuff Grip 140/70 for FZ in Bangalore?? My friend & I went to JC road once for changing his rear tyre. Installed ContiGo, INR- 2800/-, We had to fix it in a small set-up separately as they (the store) were not into installations
. Also, my friend ended up with a broken hugger
. All I am lookin' for is a genuine place. I am goin' for 'The Change' next week but I do not want to experience the same if, better options prevail. Also, if anyone can throw some light on the price of the stock one in the front??
Appreciate the help. Thanx!!!!

Any recommendations for front tyre replacements? Stock has reached its old age now and don't want to get a stock again.
