tvs apache 150 Tyre.. Suggestions pls
Hi,
I own a 8 year old TVS Apache . 150CC. I want to change the rear tyre of it. It has CEAT VERTIGO SPORT. I have used it for a couple of years and the experience hasnt been good.. After changing from stock tvs tyres to vertigo sport faced a few problems like drop in pickup, unstable at corners and when ever i apply brakes, its skids.
So I dont want to buy that again. TVS tyres are out question too.
So can anyone suggest me a good tyre which would increase the pickup and balance.
Size given in the spec is 100/80-18 or 90/90-18. I didnt find any tyre other than TVS tyres. So i need to go for a slight change in size.
I thought zapper Q would be good option. Nevertheless, pls suggest me a god tyre.
Thanks in advance.

I think Zapper Q should be a good choice, because I've tested one fitted on Karizma/ Unicorn, and it seems ok.
But remember one thing: Most probably, Acceleration won't be as good as with the stock TVS tyre.
That's because TVS tyre is made from a hard compound rubber, which works ok-ok on the dry surfaces, if you heat the tyre enough. Basically:-
1. Hard compounds don't grip too good, but they give speed due to less rolling resistance. And they last long too.
2. Soft compounds grip better, but they lose acceleration due to stickyness. And don't last too long.
Even my Pulsar lost some performance on losing the stock tyres and fitting in the MRF Zappers from R15 version 1.---

Re: R15 V2 tyres
Hi Arun,Originally posted by ArunKR_ View PostHI friends. I am planning to change my tyres(both front and back) on my P220. Currently using michelin pilot sporty on the front and mrf revz s on the rear. Planning to stick onto the same rear tyre. Shortlisted zapper fs(90/90)(stock tyre) and zapper fy1(90/80)( R15 V2 front tyre) for my next front tyre. Please provide any information regarding the availability of Zapper FY1. Any dealers or contact number or online shops or anything like that. Thanks in advance
I too am looking to change my stock P220 tyres to R15V2's setup. Can you share a pic of the rear tyre on your bike and the specify size of it.
Thanks

Buddy forget the R15 tyres. Not at all confidence aspiring, borderline useless. And the front wobbles around 60-80, uncontrollably actually almost creates a tank slapper at timesOriginally posted by srinath34 View PostHi Arun,

[QUOTE=ATHUL4R;
Own cbz xtreme... for riding an average of 85kmph is the above tyre or mrf zapper y good (rear) for braking and grip on wet

by looking into the tyre pattern i would say, this might reduce acceleration and mileage. better to go for Zapper-C, which is good in overall aspect.

This is falcon blaster 100/80 18.
Mine is Xtreme. Stock tyre size is 100/90 18. Can I go for the above size? Is that gives good grip in wet conditions too?

Re: Tyres
In need of new tyres for my Pulsar220. I'm looking for Ceat / MRF after regretting my last Pirelli Set (Front & rear).
Just got price for "michelin pilot sporty"
90/90-17 Front = 1735 rs
120/80-17 Rear = 2655 rs
Total = 4390 rs + Fitting free.
The price seems same as Ceat or MRF Zapper.
But how is the grip and Life ?
Like Pirelli was crying forchange just after 10-12k Kilometer and @ 15k km I was regretting too.
I don't want something like that now.
My usage : 20-25k km of running in 10-11 months (Highway, city, tours)
P.S. = Any option available in 140 size Rear Tyre ?
My current Pirelli is 140 size rear.First I was Scared But then We Made a Deal

Re: Tyres
I have Michelin pilot sporty in my 220 at both front and rear,The Front pilot sporty is excellent,but the rear is ok,dry and wet grip is ok,not that good,I would suggest you to go for pilot sporty in front only.For rear tyre choose a different brand,have heard on this page,pilot sporty at front and mrf vyde at rear has worked well on a 220,search it on this thread!!!Originally posted by Sird View PostIn need of new tyres for my Pulsar220.
