After that yesterday i noticed the HID and other lights went out.

So i am assuming either the wiring / RR unit (APE OEM) / battery has gone bad.

If i want to check the RR charging and battery voltage what setting should i use on the multimeter - Amps or Volts i will be using a multimeter as attached below.

Edit: Also advise if while checking these i should disconnect anything like wires etc. or i can just simply plug in the leads and do the job.
page 96 i had posted how to use multimeter to calculate the amps..

        hi,
        I am from ghaziabad(U.P)
this is my first post to xbhp group, i unerstand somethingh about to convert my A.C circuit to D.C by adding Diode bridge rectifier and install it to my bike and my battery start getting more current to be charged, but even i dont get a clue to change the connection of my A.C light to D.c.
can anyone help me about yamah gladiator.
        thanks alot buddy....

don't use diode for conversion it will fry your battery
you should use pulsar ug4 rr or ape rr just by ungrounding the coil you should rewind only if your load is more than the stock...

          • Today i've converted my bike from AC to DC. So now my bike is full DC.
But using the stock RR, Next I'm planing to rewind with 19G wire & Ape RR setup.
Is there any other options without going to rewind & etc...

My bike is having 3.5amps Battery
My usage is HID & 4A horn, and also planning to fix two Aux Lamps is it possible

I've converted my bike to full DC but with stock RR setup.. My bike is having 12poles so shall i try the method only by UN-grounding & connect the ends directly to APE RR. will this setup able give the juice for my DC setup. Already having HID & i'm also planning to fix AUX lamps as in your bike any details about the AUX lamp setup.

Converted to full DC with stock AC+DC RR? Charging rates will be less than what u need.

I guess u r referring to the stock coil for isolating the GND, OK, u can use the APE RR by isolating the wire from the GND.

The aux lamps am using Autopal 3"Spots which is not useful for a beam spread, I just use it for flashing the high beam riding morons. Search for some other bigger ones with a better beam spread. Spots are just spots, it wont light up the area for visibility. U can see how they perform from my video of continuous flashing in the lighting thread.

My requirement is 7amps , i've heard twister stock coil is having 21 gauge wire & 41 winds. If i UN-ground this coil will it fulfill my requirement

ya u r correct, my plan is having H1 HID in in stock reflector for low beam & AUX light for High Beam. So i need a good AUX..When i use the HID both HID & AUX ll glow so i think i need max 10amps at that time ...
And one more doubt now i'm using only stock 3.5amps battery with extra rectifier, If i change the battery to bigger one will my problem solve...

stator coil of twister is having 12 poles so i think it will give but i am not sure as amps depend on many factors like magnet power, the size of area where the wire is winded etc..but in my scooty pep the stock coil was able to produce 5 amps with 6poles which was winded with the 21gauge wire...
so just try with UN-grounding the coil..if its not giving 7 amps then wind it with 18gauge wire..

How will u put a H1 bulb to H4 specific reflector Even if some how u managed to fix it to H4 assy, do u think u'll get a satisfactory beam spread? H1 bulbs are mainly meant for high beams not for low beam. Go for reflector specific bulb swap for a better visibility else u'll be wasting ur money and sacrificing safety of urs and others as well.

HID on proper reflector base itself a mess, now u think of the glares u r going to screw up the roads. U need to be some more responsible.

If u r able to pump out enough juice as DC, ur battery will be OK, else u'll fry it in no time. There's no parallel charging gimmicks, just go for a capable RR, u r done.

i'll try this on this weekend , what will be the output if i rewind with 18gauge wire, what about 17 gauge

I'm already having H1 type HID with H4 base china made i'am already using this in my reflector. I've focused the the High beam towards low to focus all the light on road but not too low as like low beam, so now i'm getting a good light spread & also it's not disturbing the oncoming drivers as much.

The problem is when i'm using the HID, Horn is crying battery cant able to give juice for both HID & Horn but when i'm going more than 50kmph it is not, Both HID & Horn is working fine.

if u would rewind with the 17 gauge wire than on the lower rpms the voltage will be less and i think 18gauge will give around 8-10amps@4000rpm i am not sure as it depends on many factors which i had told you before...

Dude one of my Xbhp friend is using the stock RR even after rewind the coil with 20gauge one. he's saying it's giving decent juice from the coil.

it will give the juice even if it is rewinded with the 21 gauge wire the differecnce would be that the voltage would increase and amps will deacrease so if you will rewind it with the 17gauge wire than voltage would decrease and amps will increase(lower rpm) and if the voltage decreaes more than 12 volts than the charger will not be able to charge the battery properly. On high rpms it will work very well because the voltage will increase with amps but on lower rps i can't say anything and if magnet would be strong than voltage will also be more on lower rpms, so keeping both the amps and volt in balance you should rewind it with the 18gauge wire.
