If your bike is already well run in and you're finding these problems with 10w30/10w40 which are both 10 base oils , next thing to try is any 20w40 ( Motul , if you prefer that ) .
My bike is 8000kms n 2 years old. Now since a month I'm using it for long runs (say 40kms at once for college runs, total 80km/day).I want your expert advice if I can use Xw50 oil (MOTUL 5100 15w50)??

Best recommendation for these is found in your bike's owner's manual . That is the first one to try .

    TVS Phoenix 125 (10w30 recommended)

Recommended grade is 10w30.But it is not suitable for long runs (say 35-40kms at a stretch with speeds between 60-70).
Presently running on shell ax7 10w40 (engine runs good for 20kms n then it gets rough after that). So going for MOTUL.
Which grade will be good for long runs??

    Thanks,
a semi-synthetic oil would be perfect for the FZ....don't use mineral as that would be low on overall performance, and I think fully-synthetic oils are overkill for the FZ. As for the chain, use Yamalube Chain Lube and Yamalube Chain Clean

    My Suggestion :-

    1. Motul 5100 4T 15W50 ( Semi-Synthetic )
    2. Castrol Power 1 4T 15W50 ( Semi-Synthetic )

Lastly want to know the feedback of shell advance AX7 as it is darn cheap and semisynthetic too .. I got it at ₹315 .
Its good have been using this oil since i moved to bangalore and even before that also got a box of AX7s as the dealership was closing the business in orissa.
In total using it for like say 15-20k kms in total. I feel its a good oil for my style of using it. Anyways if you get it for 315 then you can give it a try and junk it if you dont feel happy.

That happened 50-60k kms back. I switched to 5100 and then iam on the same engine now. Done 1.10 lakh total kms (50-60k kms after the 300v fiasco).

Try finding a motul dealer or reseller then.
When I was in Mumbai, we xBhp people were lucky enough to find a distributor. He was giving flat 50-80₹ discount on each bottle and always said he could give 100-120₹ discount if we purchase 7-8 bottle together.

No such luck in Delhi though.

Even if the grade is same (10W40) but from different manufacturers, the oil differs. Stick to the one that was satisfying.

    Motul 300v 15w50 .

Motul 7100 was the best oil so far for me with too much ripping, sane riding , highway riding , city riding and hill riding .. Works well in summer condition. But in winter My svc mechanic said it can create some starting issues. So will be going for 10w40 then ..
