Have you tried a bottle of simple motul 3000 4T plus 20w40 ?
Yes, I've used CP1 in the past but same observation. And nope, haven't used a Motul 3000 4T Plus 20W40 ever. Would try it soon.
Was actually planning to use some full synth oil because Discover 135 engine is very harsh and vibey. What about 20W50 grade FS?

any day synthetic is better since it can face the shearing forces much better in the clutch box. that makes the synthetic oils last longer too.
but most important is the quality of oil . be it mineral or semi synthetic or full synthetic

            • Just out of curiosity. Has anybody tried the SS / FS oil mixed with boric acid?

I did it with normal HH 10W30 mineral oil and the result was good.

Then i shifted to FS but couldnt compare the difference as i had to get some engine work done due to which the FS had to be drained.

Why boric acid when you can afford FS?? FS's are just great no need to fiddle with it. Secondly there are few who have tried boric acid with SS & mineral but result WILL totally depend on 'your luck' (which can be positive or negative)

Logically , yes ... if you wan't to try a FS oil , your grade would be 20w50 or 15w50 only , at least for the summer months here .
Two things - I still suggest that you try a bottle of motul 3000 4T+ 20w40 , and change oil every 2000kms . This is because in winter 15w50/20w50 may feel a bit sluggish - though it shall get rid of your engine harshness and heat very effectively at all times .
Secondly you can also try motul's 5100 15w50 semi-synthetic for a great price(cool Rs 100 off from mrp, if this guy still has stock, phonecall him in advance) -

What is the odometer reading of your Disco-135 now ?

                    • I do change oil at every 2000 kms, now the odo reads around 20,000kms.
Someone suggested Gulf Pride 4T aswell, will try both Motul 3000 4T (Motul 5100 only in summers) & Gulf Pride 4T.

                      Edit:
Had already noted the number & address of the shop when you had posted earlier. Thanks!!!

                      • Gulf Pride is as good as motul 3000 4T , I have used it once only. Since then I am not getting supply of the black bottle(20w40) here anymore at my regular oil-shop(ESS Enterprise - Jadavpur, Besides KPC hospital) .. so I am buying motul only since last year . Gulf's silver bottle(10w30 synthetic-blend for Rs 230) and the new dark-navy-blue bottle(10w30 full synthetic for an amazing Rs300 900ml) is freely available here though .
That guy (oriental auto) also has very good stock of all Bajaj parts too - I got a rare item(leg-rest & gear-rest unit) for my best friend's wind-125 from him only , after having hunted for it months in Kolkata .

                        • Bought Motul 300V at Rs. 850 and I'm loving it
This oil is that damn good. It can also make a bajaj engine quiet.
