Fresh oil is good for engine not expensive oil with longer drain period. Put tvs semi synthetic oil ( red bottle) in your apache, change it every 2k kilometers and you'll have a long lasting engine. No need of synthetic oil for 160cc engines.

Castrol Power 1 Racing (10W50) - Fully Synthetic - This brand has official tie-up with Triumph and therefore service centre will always provide this oil during a service.
Motul 300V Factory (10W40) - Fully Synthetic - This is one of the very expensive options - I have tried to buy it during Flipkart/Amazon deals or if any local dealer had some deal going.
Motul 7100 (10W50) - Fully Synthetic - Just few days back I have started using this oil.

    Observations:
    1) Castrol P1R - This is sufficiently good and the bike performs well.
    2) Motul 300V - This is the absolute best. Bike is clearly much smoother and the acceleration is slightly more urgent - on multi-cylinder bikes with 100+ bhp power you will certainly feel this difference.
    3) Motul 7100 - This is giving me an in-between performance compared to above two. It's noticeably smoother than Castrol, bike performance is almost on par with Castrol or slightly better but certainly not smooth and urgent like 300V variant. I think the urgency is also coming partly due to difference between 10W40 and 10W50 variants. 10W50 is slightly thicker oil and hence engine probably takes slightly more effort with it.

I have kept drain intervals around 10-11 months (approx 7500 - 8500 km) with both Castrol P1R and Motul 300V and likely to maintain similar interval for current oil as well. People do say that Motul 300V is for racing and doesn't last long but that isn't my observation. It remained smooth for as long as 10 months easily and even after 10 months of usage, it was still marginally smoother than Castrol P1R.

One funny thing - I could be wrong but I am feeling that GEAR SHIFTS are slightly smoother with Motul 7100 10W50 than Motul 300V 10W40 (I haven't tried 10W50)

I didn't go for Liqui-Moly as it is even more expensive than Motul though many people swear by it. Also there is one more brand that gets discussed widely in super bike owner groups - PUTOLINE - quite a few are using this as well.

I would like to know what people say about Shell Advance Ultra, Repsol etc options.
How about the drain interval in the above mentioned oils?

Thinking to try out 300V next time then.

Recommended oil change duration is 10k kms. And here is my question.

Planning to change the oil, which one will be better?
    Options :-
    1) Motul 300V 15w50
    2) Motul 300V2 10w50
    3) Liqui Moly Street 15w50
    4) Liqui Moly Street race 10w50 (most expensive)
    5) Any other options? Please feel free to suggest.

Thanks. Also shall I keep the trend of changing a FS oil at every 4k-5k kms? The bike feels a tiny bit rough now compared to previous days with 7100. Oil's viscosity and quality seems good.

I changed the oil a month back in first service and it already is not up to the mark within 900 kms. The same issue I faced for the original oil which was there when I bought the bike 2 months back.

Now I want to change oil on my own and I do not want to go back to Yamalube. The option I am considering are Shell AX7 (Synthetic blend) as its available in 10W40 and fits in budget as well. However, I am not sure about putting AX7 in FZ25. I checked Motul as well, there is no semi-synth in 10W40. The synthetic oils in 10W40 (all brands) are very expensive or at least I feel them as expensive. Can someone give me expert advice for AX7. Or should I opt for FS oil.

Note-I have been using Shell AX7 for my ZMR and Super Splendor and there absolutely no issues. Both bikes are very smooth. I use Shell HX7 (semi-synth) for Santro and there are absolutely no issues. In other words I trust Shell semi-synth for all my cars.
I faced similar issue when my Yamaha FZ-S, according to Yamaha SVC new engines will either makes lot of heat or ask for frequent oil change. The problem will vanish after motorcycle's Odo reaches 4k+ kms. Better use company oil Yamalube Sporty Premium 10w40 FS (R15 & R3 oil. blue bottle) which they pour since 1st service till 4k-5k kms.
According to my observation Yamalube FS loses it viscosity after 2000kms and the nearest Yamaha SVC recommends drain interval at 3000kms. Also stay away from Shell AX7, me and my friends experience with Shell AX7 weren't good, lasted just 1500kms (reason don't know, most say Shell AX7 is mineral oil marked as Semi-Synthetic ). If using Semi-Synthetic then try Motul 5100 10w/4015w50 or ELF MOTO 4 Roadstar 10W-40.
Currently switched to Castrol Power 1 Racing 10w50 FS, driven around 1100kms and satisfied.

I'm using TVS Fully synthetic oil in Apache for more than 5000 Kms and still it's fine !!
Yamaha also recommends 5000kms change interval for that oil on fz25, but some people feel it doesn't last that long. thus i suggested to change it at 2000-2500km instead of going for costly oils @ 5000km interval. although in my experience it does last till 4400-4700km after that it feels rough.
